Ask a couple of your "worldy" co-workers if they want to go out for a beer this Friday night.

The world will appear scary. Fact is there are scary parts but most people are decent and worth getting to know. You will need to learn to think for yourself, that takes time as other posters have said. Read like you have never read before but be selective and read only well researched respected works. Comfort can come from knowing you are not alone but don't get caught up in bitterness and revenge that has consumed some former JWs.

Take time now to focus on yourself. Join some meetups or clubs for things you enjoy...hiking/walking, dancing, art, photography, volunteering...

Take the time to do some things you never had time to explore before.

Just by doing this, the path will become clear to you. Things will sort as you follow your heart.

Remember, life is to be lived by your choices...no one else's. You will only find happiness in living life on your terms. The road will be difficult, and sad, and infuriating at times. When that happens, just remind yourself that it is YOUR life, and the strength will come.

Enjoy your freedom for at least a little while. Do a little research without the wt colored glasses and then decide if you truly believe. Me thinks you won't return to the wt organization.

What do you want to happen?

If you will lose family or have other goodvreason not to be shunned by them, did you appeal? if not and it is still within 7 days, do so... right now . Any old reason will do. At the appeal committee, grovel , beg plead newfound repentence , make them see that the first decision was wrong. It might work . The first committee will hate you but no matter.

If you don't mind being outside , follow the good advice given above. It is not easy starting over , the world seems scary but little by little it will get easier.
