Can you openly express doubts in the congregation these days?

I posted on my FB AGAINST the jabs and some of the "friends" were seeking the elders on me.

I have to confirm that things have indeed changed. There are many now who openly talk about the vaccines were not safe and they don’t get called into the back room. Otherwise they would need a bigger back room. It would be full after every meeting.

You can openly voice concerns about the vaccines now. I am.

This is an organization of people that says it follows God’s word; yet, it rejects the words of Christ and his example of speaking out for truth. If a JW tries to buffer or remain close-lipped to what they know is wrong, no matter how old or young they are, where is their integrity? Where is their belief in Jesus Christ? And where is their love for neighbor? Or, is it all about saving their own skin? John 16:2; Heb 13:11-14; Mark 8:35

Prov 11:3 – “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”

No. ""At that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not." Watchtower 2013 Nov 15 p.20"

Depends on how you do it and what the issue is.

    Things like beards no problem.

"At that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not."

That's the problem. The whole composite of leaders, whether the GB or the elder body, are masters over JWs, and not Jesus Christ. It can't be both. 1 Sam 8:4-20; Matt 6:24

"For am I now trying to persuade people, or God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." Gal. 1:10

For PIMOs, there will never be freedom as long as they still submit to the guidelines of "organization". John 8:32

Rattigan350, now beards are not a problem after the WTS approved of them. Prior to that a jw having questions/doubts and sharing them with other jws, would have been in big doodoo.

I’ve had a neatly-trimmed beard for a couple decades now, and all my old JW relatives and associates have seen it at one time or another over the years.

I’ve never really been given any shit about it, and have, in fact, received compliments for it… one from an elder’s wife, in fact.

Nevertheless, I have this overwhelming urge to go back to my old Hall in a shirt and tie…

    completely clean-shaven…

…just to see how they’d react.

So I would be very interested to know what will happen in most congregations these days if someone openly expresses doubts about the GB and about the direction from the GB?

If for example someone said “maybe the GB got it wrong about the vaccines” would they be called into the back room? If so then what? Would the elder have to make the case that the GB were right to give that direction and the vaccines are safe, and in the future we follow the direction even if we are not sure?

I suspect this would not happen and many elders would now agree to doubt the GB on this?

If they allow people to undermine their authority like that, they will not have authority anymore. Some congregations may be laid back about it, but I bet that most will deal with it quickly and emphasize the importance of being good little JWs and obeying the GB without question.

By all means, though, go ahead and express doubts as freely as you want. The more that their authority is weakened, the worse it gets for them. And if it means you get DF'ed, then count it as a blessing.

It surely now most people have doubts about the safety of the covid vaccines? Could there be a situation where the majority of the congregation have doubts about the direction but they just don’t talk about it?
