New Dutch Assembly Hall Swifterbant - 17 September 2016

  A new 2,500 seater assembly hall in the Netherlands - which expands to 3,500 seats for the annual conventions - is being dedicated on Saturday 17 September 2016.
  

  The existing hall on the site is converted into a venue for the WT schools - lecture room with ancillary accomodation - bedrooms, kitchen, canteen, study areas etc etc

  Expect to see more of this. I am convinced they will use assembly hall facilities for RCs more and more. I note this is very utilitarian - it looks like a warehouse. Cheap to build and very easily flipped if needed.

  I also note the two guys, presumably brothers, are not wearing suits and ties.

  The pattern emerging is hard-nosed and cynical it seems to me.

  This former publishing house turned real estate conglomerate has performed a world-wide take-over of ownership of property and cash. It is selling the plum buildings and sites and replacing them with cheap and nasty utilitarian sheds both as kingdom halls and assembly halls. On another thread the baptism "pool" or rather stainless steel sheep dip is shown in an assembly hall.

  There is of course one exception to this austere pattern, the grandiose and lavish buildings at Warwick due to be finished in 2017.

  I wonder which ones will be home to the GB? The society organisation just seems to be selling the family silver and stashing the proceeds. How long will it be before the r&f just say enough is enough and refuse to play and pay anymore.
