  Recently, someone who knows Deborah Drexler, the current copyright holder of CofC, asked her if she will consider having it published again. Her response was:
  

  " I will have to ask Jesus"!!!!!

  Make of that what you will.

  Personally, I think she feels it's better to have people as believers in the Watchtower, than non-believers out of the Watchtower, but that's just my take. Others think she's just been bought off by Watchtower representatives.

  Over on ExJW reddit u/ziddina, a moderator, is doing a review of the whole book, section by section. So this way you get to read the whole book legally, if this is an issue for you.

  If it's not, please contact u/wifibandit who definitely will not be offering pdfs in several languages (since as we know, thanks to Kim & Mike Brookes, that is a copyright infringement).

  A Christian with misguided values is in charge of Ray's legacy.

  No wonder she is grasping tightly with sweaty little hands.

  She will be blessed by Jesus for not allowing the book to get in the hands of *gasp* unbelievers

  WTF is that??

  So that means that it is Jesus' fault for the book being held up. She is blaming Jesus for the book being made as inaccessible as possible. Jesus has held the book up, according to her logic

  Deborah, do the "Christian" thing and turn the book over to the public domain. It is already there. Make it official and legal

  It is really encouraging to hear that Jesus has found a way to release Ray's life giving book to the Russians.

  Way to go Jesus!

  I have read a few stories out of Russia where Ray's book has been credited as the tool that pried them loose from the WT grip.

  Thank Jesus that Ray's book has made its way across the Big Pond

  This confuses me.

  I had understood that Deborah Drexler had serious health issues but was to "release" Crisis of Conscience after recuperation. It is also frustrating that posts almost always rely on second- or third hand accounts ("...someone who knows Deborah Drexler...").

  That said, if the OP is an accurate account of what Deborah has actually said, I am very disappointed.

  It is a damn shame that accessibility to perhaps the most potent and authoritative work ever written on the modern-day JW organization remains in limbo. It also renders understandable that others are attempting to procure it illegally.

  Its hard to know what to make of that comment. Maybe it was just a flip remark but it doesn't bode well. Last I read there was going to be an updated version with some new material from Ray that he'd been working on before he died. Now I don't know what to think. Its all so much hearsay and noone seems to know anything solid. I suppose its not a major issue as the pdf's are readily available online - even in audiobook form and its hard to justify not making use of them at this point.
