So are the GB now saying that they are NOT the "faithful and discreet slave"?

The July 2013 Watchtower states that they don't get the appointment until they are in heaven, because they are being appointed over heavenly and earthly interests.

Jesus will then be happy to appoint that slave over all his belongings. Those who make up the faithful slave will get this appointment when they receive their reward in heaven and become rulers along with Christ.

    Yeah, wow, that's even better.
Wow, that's like Russell/Rutherford all over again.
    Leading from heaven.
Have to wonder if one dies then can the rest say "we're receiving heavenly direction from our appointed slave?"|

Not too distant future can be 10 years. I'm just thinking that it's going to be relatively soon (not a couple generations from now).

I'm just calling it the way I'm seeing it. The more I read (watch?) the more it just jumps out. But who the hell knows what's in their weenie brains?

BlackSwan of Memphis, you may well be onto something there. They have introduced the idea in 2007.

What, then, can we deduce from the fact that one of the 24 elders identifies the great crowd to John? It seems that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today. Why is that important? Because the correct identity of the great crowd was revealed to God’s anointed servants on earth in 1935. If one of the 24 elders was used to convey that important truth, he would have had to be resurrected to heaven by 1935 at the latest. That would indicate that the first resurrection began sometime between 1914 and 1935. – Watchtower of January, 2007, p. 28 paragraphs 11-12

    Ah well there ya go.
I am pretty amazed with you guys that have this stuff ready to pull up. It's funny, I don't even have a clue how to get to the online crap as fast y'all.
If they weren't just putting up these ridiculous videos on the conventions re the people in the basement/bunkers AND The message changing AND talking about the Great Tribulation right on the heels of their little FDS change, it would be different and I probably wouldn't even notice.
It seems almost like it's been perfectly scripted. Kwim?
Have to wonder how far back they've been plotting this crap.
    They're clever little snots.

Good answers already given, but just to give my two cents' worth...

GB still say they are the FDS, but at this point in time appointed over just some of the master's belongings. They say that in the future they will be appointed "over all his belongings".

Wasn't there something more recent on this than 2013?

    "WT 7/13

19 In review, what have we learned? In the beginning of this article, we raised three “when” questions. We first considered that the great tribulation did not begin in 1914 but will start when the United Nations attacks Babylon the Great."

perfect.---so the whole future prophecy from the watchtower hinges on something the have absolutely no control over--either the timing or the outcome---or even whether it will ever take place. so if the UN never attacks babylon the great--then the great tribulation will never begin. i like it lol.

Yeah, these maggots slipped it in into the new purple kingdom book introduced at a assembly some years ago. And of course the indoctrinated JW goes home eats all that delicious spiritual food until it's time to digest it. Then he comes to the bitter part where it says his masters have not yet been appointed. What! So what does the JW do with bitter food that has been given. He curiously asks an elder about it. And the response from the imbecil also in the dark elder? He pulls out the almighty, all powerful, and thought stopping one liner: "let's wait on jehovah".

And so it continues, the never ending stupidity of your average, uneducated, irrational thinking JW window/office/home cleaner.

In all honesty, the majority of JWs are not to blame. They are merely pawns being used by the real culprits in NY.

I always thought that the stupidest thing ever is thinking that the UN will attack religion.

As if the UN is an entity on its own - that it's not a very weak peacekeeping body made up of many countries.

And how stupid is it to think that - US or British or Brazilian soldiers assigned to the UN will suddenly go to there countries and kill their Moms and Grandmoms for going to church:)

And with its massive 90,000 uniformed force ( police and military ) they will shut down 6 billion people who profess being part of a religion. Look at the terrifying numbers below:)

In June 2013. Pakistan contributed the highest number overall with 8,186 personnel, followed by India (7,878),Bangladesh (7,799), Ethiopia (6,502), Rwanda (4,686), Nigeria (4,684), Nepal (4,495), Jordan (3,374), Ghana (2,859), and Egypt(2,750).[9]

I thought it was just a JW thing for the longest time, when I started exploring Evanglicalism (aka Kirk Cameron ) and found they were just as nuts I shuddered.
Part of me, in reading what the JW's are up to makes me wonder if they're riding on the trails of the Evangelicals. Their end times, UN, Anti-Liberal everything because it's Anti-American dammit and the US of A is a GOD given country (read Kingdom Coming if you haven't yet) lays the perfect groundwork for people looking for something else and at just the right time as the nations seem to be hating on "God's people more and more" and the end is nigh because dammit gays ( )

The anti-UN stuff within that group of people (which seems to be growing?) (or maybe just getting noisier) is just as crazy.

ftr that was not an Anti-Republican rant, i have had awesome discussions with Republicans that did not revolve around God and they're just as dismayed as others as to the religiousness of it. :/
