I have this memory of a GB member once saying that there would be a lot of bodies to be buried after Armageddon.

does anyone else remember who said it?

it was probably in the last decade or so

Ive been trying to find the video I’m sure it was on Lloyd evens and all the other similar channels when it was said.

i can’t remember which GB member said it

I don't remember the most recent one but I remember the morbid subject discussed multiple times in the past...sometimes gleefully. Weird subject.

My mother seemed fascinated by the subject. Hitchcock's classic movie "The Birds" got her going for months. Birds and the wild beasts of the field would do most the work.

At one time Watchtower said Anti matter would do the work. lol.

Anthony Morris III. It was a GB video, as I recall he was rather graphic in his descriptions. Hot dogs? Did he not suggest Jehovah may use "anti-matter" to clear up the mess?

The announcement of his departure was 22 February 2023 so it would be before this date.

Yeah, that's definitely an AMIII statement. Due to his past as a military surgeon, he was often quite graphic about the results of war - too much so - but it does need to be recognised by those talking about Armageddon.

The rest of the GB have been reluctant to talk about the realities of it, even though the Bible is very honest about the real aftermath of battle, from the days of the Israelites onwards.

It's that kind of intellectual dishonesty that bothers me about the modern GB and that, if Armageddon were ever to happen, means they are not preparing the R&F correctly for what is to come.

Fortunately, if Armageddon is going to come as they say, they won't be the ones in charge (despite what they think).

I was around 30 years of age (early 90s) when it was reiterated that it would be the job of Armageddon™'s survivors to clean up the earth and turn it into a Paradise™.

My mom-brain thought this was a HUGE crock of $#!t, and I said so. "Why the hell should 5 or 6 million people be responsible for cleaning up the gigantic MESS that Jehovah™ made of the earth and all the bodies he racked up?"

I'd had my fill of always cleaning up after a husband, a young kid, a toddler and a newborn, and was just OVER IT. I said "If he can so easily cause the destruction of almost everything on the planet, he could just as easily wave his hand and make it all the way he wants it. It takes YEARS for an entire country to almost restore itself after a natural disaster, how long do you think it'll take for small groups of people over the entire globe to fix that mess?" This whole idea seemed nothing short of unreasonable and irresponsible on Jehovah™'s part.

That was one of my first "revelations" (wake up call?) that this was not The Truth™.

I decided to check this out and found this (ludicrous): WT 1956 8/1 p. 465: "With such a glorious feast of victory concluded, only the bones, bones from one end of the earth to the other, will be left for burial. What a task that will be for the survivors, to cleanse the earth of every remaining evidence of Gog’s forces! Even with the work well organized it will take seven months, Jehovah says, just to bury the bones. Scouting corps will be sent out on a full-time basis to search the land thoroughly and, when bones are found, markers will be set up for those with the spades and shovels who follow. (Ezek. 39:14, 15) Those privileged to share in that cleanup work will not view it as a revolting and disgusting assignment but will rejoice to be alive when Gog’s long and oppressive rule has come to an end and when the wicked are no more. Survivors of Armageddon will be happy and will greatly rejoice to have a share in preparing the earth for a global paradise of beauty and perfection under the reign of the King Christ Jesus. But first, before that happy day, this message against Gog must be delivered in its completeness." Could be why some older jws in the past thought this.

But in WT1973 6/1 p. 346 "But the animals could never dispose of all those slain at Har–Magedon. Hence, the Almighty God will doubtless use some highly scientific means at his disposal to get rid of the surplus of the decaying bodies in a speedy and sanitary way. We remember that Noah and his seven fellow survivors of the global deluge were not burdened with burying the human victims of that world catastrophe after they came out of the ark and renewed Jehovah’s worship on earth (note word doubtless)

Many, many years ago, an elder told me that after Armageddon he would be one of those putting the markers by the bones. Quite a nice job, drive around in some sporty car with a boot full of markers, have a long leisurely pub lunch and do a few more in the afternoon.

As for me, a waster who turned in a fraction of the hours that he did, would be on burial duty. I would have to walk from marker to marker and take a packed lunch with me.

    He had great imagination!
