Er - it depends how this water was 'miraculously' held up there. Plus the waters covered the surface of the earth for best part of a year. How long would they have held their 're-entry heat'?
And what about the waters that came from below? How much of the water covering the mountains came from the water canopy and how much came from under the earth?

The book that Russell based his flood theory (and his wacky creation ideas) was written by Isaac Vail. The book was published in 1912. Isaac Vail was a "catastrophist"

According to the generally accepted biblical chronology, the flood happened about 4500 years ago.
We have Egyptian culture all throughout that time. We have pyramids from earlier than the time of the flood and after. Which means, we had Egyptians building pyramids. And many people today don't even know how ancients even built these structures.But supposedly a flood is supposed to come and cover the whole earth - even the Egyptians, destroying the whole culture. Yet now we are supposed to believe that the descendants of Noah - at a time when they would be hard pressed to repopulate the species - move in mass numbers to Egypt and decide to adopt the culture and gods of the previous culture that was there. They even somehow figure out how to make pyramids and start building them again.
And they also start to use the hieroglyphic language as well. Which we couldn't even decipher until we found the Rosetta Stone.Oh, you can use the hundreds and hundreds of other miracles that would have had to happen and ascribe them to god. But what about this? Would god have formed Egyptian culture a second time with it's false gods?
I was also thinking recently about the sea-creatures that live in the relatively shallow portions of the ocean. Where there is plant life and other food. What happens when sea level raises by 19,000 feet? There is no sandy bottom of seaweed. It's thousands of feet down now.
