When a Muslim journalist needs Police protection from her own fellow muslims because her views differ from theirs leaves not much hope for the rest of us

Quite right. And when a Muslim of the Ahmadiya sect gets brutally stabbed multiple times, dying in a pool of his own blood with the killer allegedly sitting on top of him and laughing, you'd expect the liberal media to scream 'Islamophobia!'

Er, not quite. The muted reaction from our media is because the killer himself is a Muslim, one who gave instructions through his lawyer to tell the media that the reason for the killing was because the victim had insulted Islam.

I was struck by the amount of Muslims surveyed who think homosexuality should be illegal, polygamy should be legal and Sharia law should be practised in some areas instead of UK law. It said 4% think suicide bombers are a good thing, which apparently equates to about 100,000 people. However it said 1% of non-Muslims agreed!

What really struck a cord was the Muslim journalist saying many young Muslims tell her they are miserable in that faith. Many of them are gay, many are forced into marriages they don't want, women and men, and many felt that they're stuck. Sound familiar?

I admit that I have not seen this programme but dare I say that it sounds suspiciously like a tv company chasing a ratings battle by appealing to society's baser fears .....We need to be alert to manipulation by the corporate media

Yesterday it was the Jews, today the Muslims, who will it be tomorrow?

Muslims need a good education as to what to expect when they enter a European nation. They should be told that if they cannot have any tolerance for others with different values they should stay at home.

The man responsible was charged very quickly and so things are sub judice until trial begins. As happens in every criminal case - to try and allow for a fair trial whatever the circumstances.

Not sure what the Indie and Guardian, Britain's 'liberal media', reported to be honest. Don't think even the tabloids got much time to report too extensively before things moved past that initial coverage.

I have mixed feelings about this subject as you can probably see but I think that the Jihadi movement which is a very radical modern Islamic group is what needs focusing on.

This group is trying to win converts from Muslim communities all over the world. It is a millenarian apocalyptic movement that began life with Sayyid Qtub in the 1950's. Is this group representative of all Muslims? well just as violent cultic groups within Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism etc do not represent all Christians, Buddhists etc this jihadist group does not represent all Muslims.

this jihadi movement wants all Muslims who resist and who do not think like them to be killed for apostasy.

The documentary reflects my experience of working with seemingly secular and reasonable Muslims. It's just like how as was as a Witness.

No issues are made about anything until the one thing that pushes a button such as homosexuality. As a Witness everything is fine and dandy until pushed on views on homosexuality. Despite trying to sweeten the pill with "it's the action not the person" blah blah blah the fundamental truth is that you cannot reconcile being a Witness with any kind of tolerance of homosexuality as that is what has been programmed into you.

Ultimately, most practising Muslims have exactly the same constraints to their tolerance. At some point their faith means they have to make a choice between accepting homosexuality or remaining loyal to the tenets of their faith. When pressed, every Muslim I have spoken to has had to accept their tolerance of homosexuality is relative.

When it comes to jihad, terrorism, violence and so on then, whilst it's fair to say there is further greying of the boundaries, when it comes down to a black and white, yes/no answer very few Muslims can condemn without question as the requirement to establish Islam at the cost of any who refuse to believe is written into the Koran.

The same is true when a Witness tries to explain the destruction of billions at Armageddon. However they try to sugar coat the pill with "it's all up to God", "we don't decide", "many will be resurrected" and so on, the facts are undeniable and cannot be mitigated by any Witness.

Witnesses and Muslims in our society are afforded the luxury of not really having to make black and white choices on these subjects right now. The real question is what happens when they are forced to make the choices, are forced to face up to the raw issues at hand raised by their faith. Then what? The outright shunning of any who do not meet the mark in a Witness world tells the real story. The fact that highly violent and oppressive regimes like ISIS are able to rise up and establish control in large areas suggests that the moderate voice is not the winner in a black and white world and that tells a story too.

Not sure what the Indie and Guardian, Britain's 'liberal media', reported to be honest - they didn't scream 'Islamophobia!', something they no doubt would have done had the killer been a member of the English Defence League (EDL). Instead, as this sad story unfolded, the Indy and Grauniad put the latest updates tucked away somewhere away from the headlines and front pages.

So, was Asad Shah's murder a hate crime? The Guardian and the rest of the liberal media don't say.

Here's a column about it by Douglas Murray:
