It is very sad that in this enlightened age of 2019 in a free democratic country of free speech and religion ,that a religious cult can practice a religion that by peer pressure ensures you abide by their rules even if it means ending your life or otherwise face the prospect of being shunned by your own family and friends you have ever known.

    Jehovah`s Witnesses /Blood Transfusions /Disfellowshipping / Shunning .

There should be a law against it.

Keith that young lady Hedy is beautiful. It breaks my heart.

How old was she when she died? Did her husband ever wake up?

I think your generation ( baby boomers) probably came off worse than any imho when it comes to the cult.

Jack faded right after Bethel. Both he and his wife Hedy did. They were both "born ins" like me. Towards the end of her life she (not him) would just go to the Memorial, like so many do who don't believe it all or just can't live the life. However after complications of Lyme disease and other things she needed blood.

She said no and died in 2003. Jack took it hard. They had no children. He is doing good now and I just saw him last week in Rhode Island. Friends for life!

    THE BETHELITE:

Nice picture and I’m sorry about the brother who fell to his death climbing and the sister who died needlessly because she refused a blood transfusion!

    DIOGENESESISTER:

I am inclined to agree with you about Baby Boomers having it bad in this cult. I’m in that age category and when I came into the JWs as a young adult - I had older JWs (retirees) and others with cushy lives telling ME that I should quit my decent job and do housecleaning and pioneer!..I refused and people hated me for it. The stupid brothers and their Stepford-type wives acted like I was Typhoid Mary because I worked full time.

Looking around, all the older JWs either had jobs or were retired with pensions! THEY spent time in the workforce so where the hell do they or anybody else get off telling some young person to pursue poverty??..Where the hell did this garbage come from?.. Anybody who listened is now paying the awful price.

The religion is reaping what it has sown today for many reasons but this pushing of poverty is a big mistake these fools have made. Today I am SO glad I never listened to these hypocrites!
