Here's the problem for me - the local needs part DOESN'T deal with the actual local needs of the congregation. Like: Elderly / disabled / depressed ones needing assistance & care, the problem of single sisters who cannot find any suitable brothers to marry, the importance of cultivating a spirit of love in the congregation INSTEAD of having a judgemental attitude, etc. The local needs part should deal with relevant problems & be solution orientated, focusing on finding practical & immediate solutions to the problems addressed, INSTEAD of the usual read the Bible, pray more, continue to attend meetings & participate in field service, DO MORE, wait on Jehovah crap! -

The default position in our congregation was if there were no local needs.........flog the 'ministry(tm)' to death. -

Right after 2 elders talked to me about being in a foreign language congregation and how it was a privilege and I should be there to support the congregation, they had a local needs talk with the exact same information that they talked with me about. Made me wonder if my wife and I were being "marked". -

Maybe they will discuss pornography? Our local needs was about spanking the monkey, and how if the Big A came while you're doing it...you're dead.
Yep. Who cares about pedophilia and starving children or cancer. There are plumbing leaks that need the Angels undivided attention and people are still playing with their naughty parts. Jeehoober has a lot on his plate with all this masturbation, especially deaf people! Can you even imagine how much a deaf person's O-sound must grate on Jeehoobidoob's nerves?!?! ( Shudder.....)

I thought local needs was scheduled, once a month, among the other talks. Were the other talks cancelled? Or are they doing it differently now. Wouldn't someone have been reproved at a previous meeting, and then local needs in the following weeks?
Be sure to come back next week and tell us hoser!

3 in one night?
Wow, you guys must have been naughty!
Let us know what they discussed.
I'm betting there are a lot of "bad association" kids in your congregation?

When I was in my 20s, I gradually came to the awareness that over the years, there had been an absolute shit-ton of "special needs" talks about fornication; particularly re. young people fornicating.
I was very (albeit privately) embarrassed when I finally realized that it meant that virtually none of the young people in my congregation were still virgins.
My own damn fault; growing up, I'd always assumed that most JW kids "followed the rules".
