Sacha Baron Cohen interviewing the likes of Stephen Lett. I'd pay good money to see that train wreck!

They should always be segregated, especially at conventions.

They are supposed to sit at the back, filthy scum. If Armageddon starts mid meeting, the angels can easily access and excecute the DF’d losers who always congregate at that back.

They should aririve right on time, not one minute early because it’s disgusting to have such vile beings in Jehovahs house any longer than necessary.

Any eye contact made with the DF’d should be in the form of a glare, otherwise stare straight through their soon-to-be lifeless faces.

It’s done this way because we love them and Jehovah loves them.

I sent a few emails and a couple of people are asking around. Could it be mis-remembered sure. But I don't think so. I will keep asking around on different forums.

Could it be misremembered sure. But I don't think so.

Memories are more unreliable than we think. Once an individual says that a memory must be true, it "becomes" true - whether it is or not. If you study the neuropsychology of memory construction, you will be very cautious about what your mind insists is true about the past when evidence - or the lack of it - suggests otherwise.

I received a post from another person who remembers the tags and set aside seating for DFed at some assemblies in the North Midwest area. It seems it was not wide spread. One of the people who is published and worked at Bethal said that she knows it was not something that came down from HQ but will ask older ones to see if anyone remembers it. I thought it was everywhere. It reminds me of how in Northern Michigan they were very conservative. No parties for teens, dance parties especially, not going to any after school hours function ect. There was a JW friend of mine whos father moved up north for 75. When it did not happen he needed to feed his 8 kids so moved to California during the recession of the late 70s and 80s. My friend would write back telling me about the beach parties and other things that would be a JC hearing if it were in the Midwest.

I can see it being some regional thing in the past. There were always a lot of regional and local rules that everyone obeyed...

Blowy - a special section at an assembly sectioned off for DFed people who would have to wear a ribbon that said disfellowshipped.

    That's hilarious.

I've never heard of it before. It's so bonkers it could be true of those WBT$ fools at a local level.

Jobo leadership is retarded enough to do anything.

I've never heard of this either, and have trouble believing it.

Mostly because (if I remember right) DFed JWs - if they wanted to be reinstated - were required to shun other DFed JWs.

Sitting together would completely undermine that requirement.

Blownaway’s (mis)remembered OP - and his inventive defense of regional variations sparked a memory from my own childhood. I was assigned stamp duty at a circuit assembly in 1967. I remember it vividly - or at least my JW mother said it happened. I don’t know - but still I think it did. My job was to stamp all attendees with one of two stamps: Good Witness or Naughty Witness. It was so very clear - even after I woke up from that crazy minded dream.
