One of the fears which the GB deliberately cultivate to their own advantage is the fear of Satan.
Choices for JWs are radically simplified; everything reduced to a choice of opposites. It is either for Jehovah God or good grief, should you actually think of disagreeing with the JW organisation, it is then for Satan.
By avoiding witnessing to the people in Lili Dale, they are saying Satan is very powerful, you must fear the Devil!
Personal point, when you can say good riddance to Jehovah and Satan, you know that you have at last grown up. That was me aged about 42.
