Then the NO CREDIT HISTORY deal ain't really true, you have a credit history, just it's BAD CREDIT. Join the army, they'll get you an account.

I don't have credit. That didn't affect me anyhow. I checked myself personally. It only affects when I try to open a savings/checking account. I can't join the army, well I could........but........don't want to leave the miss behind.

So join together. Actually, after training, she joins you. Become a Chaplain's Assistant, that's what I do, it's a great job, and you don't even have to believe in God to do the job. Have you tried contacting Chex Systems to see if it is something you could pay off and clear your credit history? Have you tried contacting the party to whom you've bounced the check?
Utility companies (gas, electric) are also a good way for you to establish credit. Of course, you'll need to pay your bill on time monthly.
If you hate being bugged with the banalities of writing out checks month after month, go to a site like YAHOO and investigate their bill pay service. Set it up once and it's done.

Rent an apartment for a year. That will give you a little credit. I was able to get a credit a card with when I had no credit but the limit was only $500.00. You can also try get a credit card from sears, or nordstrom, instead of visa. That will help establish your credit. It took me about a year to establish enough credit to buy a car without having a co-signer.

Get a secured credit card from the bank even if its only $300. Make sure you don;t go over your limit and pay your bills as soon as you get them. If you can show you can pay back little loans then you will be on your way to establishing good credit and a higher credit limit. Contrary to what anyone says its not free money, you have to pay it back! Be smart because establishing bad credit now will come back and bite you in the behind when you want to buy larger purchases such as a house.

i am in the process of reestablishing my credit so i know what a pain bad credit can be. if you are in college they give away student credit cards to pretty much anyone, thats how i messed up my credit, but if you are smart with them they can really help you.

As some have already stated Secured Credits Cards from Banks is sometimes the best way. I also found that Gas Companies were easier then Banks to get a credit card to purchase gas.
The last option is look for sub-prime lenders. They will take a chance on you and charge you 25% interest, but if you pay it off every month it is not a problem.
