JWlite can be the purple pill

    • I really like the red pill analogy in the Matrix. The one guy wishes he didn’t take the red pill and would have preferred to take the blue pill.

many used to be PIMI which is the blue pill and then they wake up to the fact that the GB are not who they claim to be which is taking the red pill.

they go through conflict and confusion as to what to believe now? Does God exist? If so is the Bible his word? They look back on the years on being blue pilled and think they were happier. Ignorance is bliss.

But you can never go back, unless you could have your brain reset again.

Taking the red pill and still keeping the old blue pill is taking the purple pill. JWlite or PIMA.

Stay in or only just and don’t let on to anyone that you don’t believe the GB but you remain PIMA and keep an agnostic view that we just can’t prove if God exits

I like many others have been trying for years now to take the red pill but be agnostic (PIMA) so all the benefits of taking the blue pill? Maybe there is a God or maybe that is not the truth, we just don’t know.

but if there is, then keep one foot in the door.

    • I’m well past confused I’ve got to the acceptance stage.

I think the best option for me is stay physically in the congregation as it’s such a full life, so many good friends and gatherings. Just like a Trekkie who doesn’t like Star Trek anymore but likes the friends and convention's, so pretend to still like star treck.

I actually think there are many many JWs like me, if not the majority these days actually. It didn’t used to be this way, it used to be most fully convinced but not anymore.

I can tell talking to old friends that they don’t really believe in JW theology, well not convinced of it. But it would be nice if it’s true and there is a possibility of that of parts of it at least.

But for now, if I left I would be missing out on all the association that I’ve got used to a couple of time per week.

It’s actually much better being PIMA, no stress. I go to ministry groups but never go door to door anymore. Not many do come to think of it. We just go to the park or shopping then back for coffee break and catch up on all the goings on.

I sometimes look at those poor souls who are fully convinced of the GB teachings and totally PIMI, Ignorance is bliss for them. They so believe the new world is right around the corner that they can cope better with their problems now.

I used to have faith like that and I was happier taking the blue pill.

but I can never go back. I can just take the purple pill.

If only it was possible to have the kind of faith that those die hard have, so much that you really experience the bliss of ignorance. It’s just not possible once you have taken the red pill. The purple pill is the best possible option now

    The purple pill.

Having it both ways. As the Borg always does.

Conveniently half way between blue & red

What a sad and disheartening perspective. You're actually endorsing a life of hypocrisy.

Are you saying that it's better to stay PIMO, with all the cognitive dissonance and personal feelings of hypocrisy, and to suck it up, than to go POMO?

I have known a few "Purple Pill" people over the years. Actually PI/O M I.

They want to keep family ties usually. Miserable existence IMO.

The only ones that SEEM to pull it off "discover" they have a disease that forces them to cut out meetings and field service with no outward diagnosable signs. (Fibromyalgia, Epstein Barr, tick fevers, etc.) or better yet, they move out of the District and become inactive (for work, etc), keeping a low profile. They only attend meetings/assemblies when they have to while visiting JW family members. :) I have known a few people who have done this for 20+ years. A LOT of extra work if you ask me.
