Can’t say you are a member of the Jehovahs witnesses as that would imply an agency and could result in financial harms for the leadership of the Watchtower Corporation.

We arent witnesses of anyone because in the 21st century we haven't witnessed anything,
No one has witnessed anything in the 20th Century either.
Nor in the 19th Century.
Noteworthy that since the Kingdom "establishment" in 1914 -- 110 yeas of nothing to see!

Most people I know (all non jw's) say, "a jehovah witness", " a big jw" , "a big jehovah", "jehovah Bob, Tom, Suzy (persons name) ", "the jehovahs" or "a jehovah".
I never correct any of them

By what authority does anyone have to change the Christ ordained role of believers from witnesses of Jesus to Jehovah Witnesses?

"Branch Jehovians"..
You know something. JWs & Branch Dravidians are just a skip & jump apart.
JWs probably have caused more deaths than Waco with their policies.
The Branch Dravidians & JWs' I believe have the same "mindset". The mindset is there!!!k
Scary. Serious & Scary stuff.
Scary.

Back in the day, the WTS used to make an issue of this. But not so much nowadays.

I also remember when my jw first joined up he said it was disrespectful to say 'jw' instead of the full 'jehovah witness' so naturally I called them dubs.

I used J-dubs at one stage. But people didn't always get what I was talking about. They thought I was saying something like V-dub (a nickname for Volkswagens) 🙄

Vidiot:
the first is technically more correct from a grammatical POV
No, it’s not. Would you say “Bob’s Burgers are a tv series” just because ‘burgers’ is a plural? The correct verb is is when referring to a compound proper noun as the name of a singular entity, in this case a religious denomination.
It is only technically correct to say “Jehovah’s Witnesses are…” when referring to a group of JW members rather than the denomination itself.
