When DT speaks, he is being rude and blunt; if he avoids the question he is Hmmmmmm.

There is no way that he can win.

I never said that DT is blunt and rude - but even then, DT did avoid answering the question. Listen for yourself.

Unless the regime starves to death or KJU is replaced as leader of NK, the only peaceful settlement with NK seems to be the tolerating of a nuclear NK by the US.

What was President Trump supposed to answer?

Will start bombing in five, like President Reagan.

Presidents are not required to answer every question that the press throws at them, specially when there are a lot of bad intentions behind the question.

His critics won't give him the benefit of the doubt, that is the essence of my comment.

I never said that US Presidents are required to answer every question that the press throws at them -for whatever reasons they have for not answering or for whatever reasons or justifications you conclude that DT avoided answering the related question.

His critics won't give him the benefit of the doubt, that is the essence of my comment.
I don't see any relevance in your above statement to the fact that DT did not answer the question. And the reason that DT gave for not answering it, was, as he told the reporter, to paraphrase DT-you can listen for yourself his exact words- DT said in reply: "I am not negotiating with you." All I said was: 'Hmmmmm' because it was a very interesting question (and a very interesting reply) that has been on my mind and in the minds of a lot of people too; especially in light of the fact that KJU has not surrendered his cookies lately. Maybe, Don. T. will make KJU an offer he can't refuse when or if 'negotiating' with KJU but other than that, I can't see DT risking a nuclear explosion anywhere in the US from China, Russia, NK or anyone else with the ability to shoot nuclear missiles at us -and that could mean allowing NK to keep its toys- that's all I'm saying, and also because DT did not negate it when asked.

Off Topic : BTW, I respect DT, specially in the way he is confronting US problems and attempting to find solutions.

Also, since NK has threatened the US with little mat ( a small gift ) the US could conclude that any missile launch coming from NK is making good on that threat -but that is for DT to decide- and since such determination is governed by a time limit of seconds after the missile launch, the US might be able to justify military action if NK launches any other missile in any direction. But as DT stated " We'll sea."

Also, DT strategy against NK is becoming seen with pressure on China and Russia by not stopping Japan and South Korea from having have nuclear missiles which is in the back yard of Russia and China -very close- unless they cooperate in collapsing NK.

It seems that Russia is becoming increasingly important in working out a solution (or, at least preventing the possible death of thousands on the Korean Peninsula).

A former Indian diplomat, M.K.Bhadrakumar, in any article for the Hongkong Asia Times discussed Putin's role. During the past week, Russia held an Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok and its understood that a DPRK (North Korea) delegation qualified to discuss economic issues was invited and attended.

Interestingly, the President of the ROK (South Korea) Moon Jai-In also attended the Russian forum, Following that forum Putin attended a meeting of the BRICS group ( that is Brazil, Russia, India China and South Africa ) in Xiamen, China, and gave and in a speech said:

"“Everyone remembers well what happened to Iraq and Saddam Hussein. Hussein abandoned the production of weapons of mass destruction. Nonetheless… Saddam Hussein himself and his family were killed… Even children died back then. His grandson, I believe, was shot to death. The country was destroyed… North Koreans are also aware of it and remember it. Do you think that following the adoption of some sanctions, North Korea will abandon its course on creating weapons of mass destruction? “Certainly, the North Koreans will not forget it. Sanctions of any kind are useless and ineffective in this case. As I said to one of my colleagues yesterday, they will eat grass, but they will not abandon this program unless they feel safe.

South Korea's President Moon at a press conference WITH Putin, also commented:

"Mr. President (Putin) and I have also agreed to build up the basis for the implementation of trilateral projects with participation of the two Koreas and Russia, which will connect the Korean Peninsula and the Russian Far East… We have decided to give priority to the projects* that can be implemented in the near future, primarily in the Far East. The development of the Far East will promote the prosperity of our two countries and will also help change North Korea and create the basis for the implementation of the trilateral agreements. We will be working hard on this.”

It seems to me that this may be a more constructive approach, than promising (and, doing just that) to blow the sh*t out of someone.

    * To clarify what sort of projects they are discussing, here are three possibilities:

    1. an extension of the Trans-Siberian railway system into South Korea via North Korea.

    2. a gas pipeline connecting South and North Korea with the vast Russian oil and gas fields in the Far East.

3.Transmission lines to take surplus electricity from the Russian Far East to the Korean Peninsula.

One last thought here. NK has conducted 6 nuclear underground tests in the same location. Hopefully, those engineers were right in their figuring because if that mountain ever collapses after so many explosions, the underground radiation from the atomic blasts are going to seep out into the atmosphere of NK and also travel and contaminate China and other places too. I haven't figured how it would compare with Chernobyl but what a disaster. I'm getting a supply of potassium iodide tabs just in case.

So let's see: The brilliant KJU had some thought provoking choices to make: Face the American hangman someday like Saddam or risk radiation contamination from underground nuclear tests. Hmmmmmm?

Face the American hangman someday like Saddam ...

If Kim Jong-un gave up his nuclear programme and stopped threatening to attack the rest of the world he would never have to face any other foreign army. The west would be competing to send NK aid to encourage them to join us in the 21st century.

The west have not caused this problem. NK is a cult. You would love it Fishy.

Sigh.... the real issues remains china. Kju is a puppet. If he ever “faces the hangman” theres always another puppet to replace him. Its irrelevant. China WANTS nk to be a strong buffer state. They WANT nk to be their puppets and to use them as a disposable proxy. CHINA gave them the nuclear tech. CHINA gave them the missile tech. Nk is giving it iran. All the nk and kju talk is pointless and irrelevant.
