oncebitten, you don't have to convince me about Watchtower's insane pyramidology period, I'm aware of it. All I'm questioning is your claim that Watchtower (via it's IBSA arm) is still selling Russell's publications.

Don't put the onus on me or anyone else to disprove your claim, it's YOUR responsibility to prove it.

I've already told you that they are owned BY the WATCHTOWER. They have links to sites who are selling the publications. While it may be legal due to copyright laws- it is certainly NOT ok for Jws to mix with apostates or is it? I dont know what it is that you are not comprehending.

    Nicolaou,

    Here are two examples.

IBSA links to Chicago Bible Students- Here are some books they sell.

Not to mention that no organization under the purview of the WTS…

    …regardless of it’s claimed affiliation…

…would be officially tolerated if it distributed outdated WT publications… particularly any utilized by a religious competitor.

The fact that this IS tolerated, however (and seems to have been for some time, now), suggests that the Org leadership is, in fact, perfectly hunky-dory with “apostate” material…

…as long as they’re benefiting from it.

Something else just occurred to me.

All this, in turn, can’t help but make me wonder…

…just how much behind-the-scenes influence - or even control - does the WTS actually have over these other (former)“breakaway” Bible Student groups?

    🤨

The Org obviously watched very carefully and took notes when the AOG splintered apart after Herbert Armstrong died…

…and we all know they took very draconian measures to mitigate schisms in the late 70s and early 80s (for a whole shit-ton of reasons).

What if (and I freely admit this is a bit out there) they were also able to legally and financially maneuver on the down-low to quietly take back some of the more potentially valuable (or vulnerable) prodigal churches… regardless of whether said prodigals wanted it? Or even realized it?

Now before you call horseshit, stop and think about it a minute…

IF this had happened, it would have been done under Ted Jaracz’s watch.

And that authoritarian prick would have absolutely been capable of something that ruthless and unscrupulous… bringing wayward dogs to heel with an iron fist was practically his whole thing.

    Means, motive, and opportunity, folks.

oncebitten you are all over the place. Are you actually claiming that this is a Watchtower controlled site?

I've been on this forum for over 20 years, many of us have and we know Russell's books are still in print and being sold by Bible Students groups. This has NOTHING to do with Watchtower.

You can clear this up easily. Show me a Watchtower owned website with a link to a site selling Russell's books.

    Uhhh are you serious?

I have told you several times that the IBSA site links to sites who sell the publications. I even gave you 2 links as examples. I dont know what more you need from me. Seems I'm hitting your blindspot?

Now, as to who owns the IBSA cross and crown website--

Once again, here is the link from my orional post. read it, and then scroll down to under the map and see the TWO WEBSITES listed there together. ---> https://uia.org/s/or/en/1100017575

You want to tell me the WT has no control over that website? Fine, whatever........ :)

Funny how helping to sell apostate pubs seems to more important than the idea that they are still patrnering with the UN. I grew up with the red climax book.

There is NOTHING that I would put past these monsters.

You have not shown that the IBSA site is owned or controlled by Watchtower, it isn't. By your logic this forum must also be controlled by Watchtower because it is called JehovahsWitnesses.com

    You're just plain wrong.

Just because the UIA (whoever they are) have placed a couple of URLs in the same article does NOT prove they both have the same owner.

They are related by history, context and both have similar folks researching them. All well and good but so what? Doesn't prove what you're claiming.

    Here's a direct quote from the site itself;

"After the death of Pastor Russell in 1916, J.F. Rutherford took control of the IBSA, acting in violation of Pastor Russell's Will and the Watchtower Bylaws. By 1931 J.F. Rutherford had radically changed and reorganized the Watchtower into a different organization. He named his new organization "Jehovah's Witnesses," in order to distinguish it from the various groups formed by the 75% of original Bible Students no longer connected. Hundreds of these Bible Student congregations worldwide have continued to the present, thus constituting a continuation of the original IBSA. These Bible Students remain united in the original early Watchtower beliefs taught by Pastor Russell."

Does that sound like a Watchtower controlled site to you?
