Btw, generally my fave Sci fi movies are Star Trek movies. There were also some good lines in them that I often quote, like when I am accelerating onto a highway from an entrance ramp I sometimes say "Scotty, I need warp speed in three minutes or we're all dead" (ST II).

As awful as Star Trek V was (it pretty much cured me of watching any more Star Trek Movies.. JEsus, couldnt someone have told the Actress that played Uhura she was too old to be doing a nude fan dance? The horror.. the horror..) it did have a great quote:

Kirk, "What does God need with a Starship?"

Speaking of Star Trek, did anyone see "Enterprise" last night?? I told my father a couple of months ago, when we were talking about some possible storylines for Enterprise, that "how much do you wanna bet that the Borg are gonna show up?" He said "no way, TNG encountered them first."

Guess I'm a prophetess and I didn't even know it!

Mary, I saw it, and at first I was thinking 'yeah, right, the Borg - how are they gonna bring the Borg into this series?' - but then as soon as I saw them in the artic, frozen in ice, I recalled "First Contact" when the Enterprise E blew up the Borg sphere that was headed toward earth.

Oh, another Star Trek line I sometimes use: "That's what you get for missing staff meetings" (Kirk to McCoy, Star Trek III).

Sentinel

The movie, "The Day The Earth Stood Still", is still my favorite sci-fi flick. For it's time, it was tremendous. I've always hoped that someone would do a modern re-make.

I own a copy of the video, and when it gets to the part where the lady has to repeat those words to the robot, or else the whole world will be destroyed, it still moves me.

Next to that one, I think I'd pick "Night of the Living Dead". (The original, of course!) I first watched this at a drive end movie. I had to go to the bathroom so bad, but was scared to death to get out of the car.
