I guess it may be that some people don't send cards. I send cards that mention the winter season only. Some may not want to give out their address. Or they don't know you. In the past, it seemed people felt more comfortable send them to me here in a pm on JWN. Just wait, I got your card today. I'm going to open it up and put on my card string under our fireplace mantel. You're the first one this season. Love Blondie

Some may not want to give out their address.
That's understandable. I recall being reticent about sending my mailing address too. It's okay, I understand. I will keep bumping this thread until Friday and what addresses I do have I will share with all who participate.
I had considered sharing the old addresses too but I did not want to do so without permission.

This board had a lot of social stuff going on in its early days. Apostafests being organised left and right, these secret Santa events and so on. It's kind of sad to see it all fizzle out, but people have moved on, or passed away, and those who might make up the new blood can find plenty of info and support elsewhere.
That doesn't diminish the importance of this board. It is still a helpful tool against the WT* and hopefully will remain so long as Simon has the patience to maintain it. 🙏🤞
* And a useful archive of information and discussion.

As I learned the entire religion was just the revision of a failed prediction that the world was suppose to end in 1914 and later the generation of 1914 was not suppose to see the end of the system of things, I not only didn't care about they have felt about Christmas, I broke the rules and flouted it. I didn't care about gift exchanges at work, I didn't care about saying Merry Christmas back to someone, I didn't care about visiting non-witness family on Christmas day.
I didn't see see the point of worrying about 3rd century Christians choosing the day of the winter solace to celebrate the birth of Christ when I couldn't understand bullshit like the understanding of the overlapping generation 1995.
I sure hope I run into some of the elders this season and wish them a Merry Christmas just in case some wizard has a vision or something. The hearts of the governing body grew three sizes that Christmas eve, it was a Christmas miracle.
