for the first time in ages.

A very elegantly dressed senior lady and a young chap. BUT--it wasnt just having a leaflet thrust at me--it was a full blown "old style" presentation. I stopped her going to far into it--by asking if they are JWs--and told them i was an apostate. But she still carried on regardless. I then told her i am a member of JWN--which meant nothing to her--and she asked what i was an apostate to !

There were several others in the street--i wonder if it was the CO visit ?

Weird, you think they would run away from an apostate. 🤷‍♀️ I wish they would come to my house, but I haven’t seen them here in years, and I live very near to a K H.

Why use the WT terminology by calling yourself an apostate?

She could be one of the PIMO JWs who remain in the Congregations to reform the 0rganization from within. It's a growing movement <ehem> the reason the partakers numbers keep going up mostly </ehem>. They realize some people exit the 0rganization not because they leave God, but because they can't put up with the Pharisaic control, thus they are not apostatizing from Christ.

It is for freedom that Christ sets us free.

@ Ding--i AM an apostate--and proud of it. I was called apostate at the KH meeting as they couldnt DF me as i had resigned years earlier. Thats their rules--go figure.

"Why use the WT terminology by calling yourself an apostate?"

It's usually the fastest way to get rid of them. Expedience over accuracy. It's the scariest word in their vocabulary. Garlic to vampires, and all that.

I thought this was JWD "Jehovah Witness Discusion Forum."

    It's both.

For a while Simon was making changes and if I recall correctly, the URL was Jehovahs-Witness.NET

So some of us oldtimers tend to use JWD and JWN interchangably. The board was very, very active during this time so JWN became ingrained in some of us.

It can be confusing. Maybe think of JWN as a nickname for JWD.

    ...

Edit to Add: You may or may not find Simon's thread from 16 years ago interesting:

Goodbye to JWD ... hello to JWN ! (jehovahs-witness.com)

It's like a trip down memory lane to see the names of the posters from that time here. Very good times.
