SNAFU says it all (I've always heard it as:) Situation Normal, All Fucked Up. Yep, that's normal in Government.
BTW -- if these wildfire are all from "global warming" and climate problems, then why does only the West Coast have the problem? No global warming wild fires in the Plains States or Midwest or Appalachia? You California folks seem to fuck up everything in the worse way..... (snarky sarcasm for the slow learners)

No the West Coast does not have the corner on the market on forest fire amid global warming as shown by what happened in Australia 6 months ago. California trees are some of the largest in the world in that it is coastal, moisture from ocean. Hence the state is able to grow large conifer trees closer to equator. So I think what we are experiencing is the gradual effects of global warming moving from equator toward the polar caps and California is just more ideal to track the movement.
On this issue fire is the forest friend, necessary for forest health. The Indians would set the forest on fire when moving to the valley's in the fall. The ranchers did the same thing as it produced new grass in the spring. The USFS policies during the 1920's mandated all fires be extinguished, they since learned that was a mistake we are still paying for..
It was this issue that made major headlines in Oregon a few years ago when a father son set Federal land on fire when they took cattle to winter pastures and got charged with arson. Which lead to "a peaceful protest" where the Bundy clan took over a Federal facility and a out of state rancher got shot by Oregon Highway Patrol. But Antifa wasn't formed to lead protest.

In Pennsylvania there are coal strips that have been burning (some natural, some human-caused) for hundreds of years and will burn for thousands of years spewing thousands of tons of CO2 every year. Let nature take its course, the trees will grow back.
Dousing the fires has been proven to be the wrong approach to take and increases future fires.
