All it shows - along with these other "pet" ideas of various elders - that most in the Org are not really thinking spiritually, but for their own material gain or to promote their own theories of how and when "the end" will come.
Most of the elders are old guys (as are the GB, at least until the new appointees). OLD GUYS have a vested interest in seeing The End™ come SOON or they will die before it comes. I know many who finally admitted they would see the New World via "The Underground" (resurrection), as one older faithful prominent JW told me.

My ex mother in law ( wonderful, loving person) was telling me she would be in the mountains raising goats. It made me think , my JW mom never said what she looked forward to doing in paradise. As soon as I got home I could hardly wait to call her. " Mom, mom what do you want to do in the new world " Her answer was " What ever they tell me " I was so disappointed.
I said " guess you will be digging graves. " Yes, I'm kind of a smart ass .My poor mom died at 92 without the promise she would never die. So disturbed !

This is what generations have been taught.....passed down & again & again... never realizing this ""promise"" which has never come true.
Nor,, never will.
This is why these guys have to be stopped. Before the dreams & potential of future generations are crushed again & again.....lives squandered away ,,,, and,,, not seeing this "" promise"" which never is realized. And will not come.

The WTS is always rewriting its history, lets some publications go out of print, and accuse jws that investigate the WTS history even using WT publications, as being apostates. It's a cult, folks!

I remember hearing that statement about getting to the new system ‘the underground way’ around the time I ‘Faded’... Hearing it made me very angry!
It sounded like they were ‘backing away from’ claims about the new system coming ‘soon’. (Of course they were, the sneaky rats.) But, the fact that this statement is repeated from coast to coast is another proof to me that circuit overseers are the ones spreading all these cliches and starting urban legends!
Yes, it is correct that the old guys in the religion have a vested interest in the End coming soon. Even though we all have the same eventuality, I have no pity for the older die-hard Witnesses. These are the ones who heavily judged me years ago because I worked and didn’t pioneer. I was persona non grata but Glad I never listened to them.
These judgmental people deserve to be disillusioned.
