My only son is nearly 34 and not a JW. We left that deal behind us when he was fourteen. He had no problem moving on with his own life and belief systems. He's rather a loner, but a professional person, and just works all the time these days.

However, he has only remembered me once for Mother's Day, in all these years since we disassociated ourselves from the borg. (I really don't know what his problem is. But, I've learned not to take it personally. I know he loves me.... Well, I think he loves me. Gosh, I hope he loves me. After all I've done for him, you'd think he could find time in his busy life, to at least send me an e-card.)

Maybe I'll get a surprise this time, but I won't hold my breath.

My feelings go out to all the lonely mums on this board. It is a funny thing, My Mother In Law has been heard to say that she accepts Christmas & Birthdays, but really misses a card on Mothers day . However it should not be taken as a rejection. My wife and her sisters are really very supportive of their now elderley mother.

cruzenheart. It does not mean a thing , habits like that are learned in childhood, when you and your son did not keep up this day

My mother has Alzheimer's and doesn't know me from a potted plant.

That is really sad sentinel, at least she has you.
