There are only two possible suspects, as far as I can see.
1. Tamil Tigers
2. Islamists.
The early signs (Christian buildings deliberately targeted) point to Islamists.
The Tamil Tigers are/were a break-away group made up of Christians, Buddhists and Muslims that want independence from Sri Lanka. They have been responsible for suicide bombings in the past but the deliberate suicide-bombing of churches is the M.O. of Islamists.
One last thought: recently, some terrorist called Brenton Tarrant deliberately shot 50 Muslims to death and wounded many others. The mainstream media were quick to label this attack the work of the far-right.
So, where do yesterday's Sri Lanka attacks fall on the political spectrum?
If they are also the work of the far-right, then why are our mainstream media so slow and unwilling to label them as such?
Or, could the Sri Lanka terrorist attacks be the work of the far-left?
