    Seabreeze - The Governing body members are not the leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Jesus is the leader. The GB are just overseers of the worldwide congregation.

    Why do people focus on these men so much?”

    Because they are the ones that ruined, and ruin, people’s life. Not JC.

    Not sure where Rattigan gets that JW’s were ever led by Jesus. Even if you somehow think the Bible Students were earnest, the GB idea came after the third schism of Bible Students. The JW organization has always been led by people at the top, they never claimed otherwise. If you want the original Bible Students or Watchtower organization, it is still around, it is not the WTBTS/JW.

    Rattigan is a troll.

    The GB are fat for the same reason the pope and many cardinal, bishops and priests are fat. They are lazy self absorbed pampered pigs.

    Rattigan350: The GB are just overseers of the worldwide congregation.

    I think this is what they really are, and what they are supposed to be. But they see themselves as God's anointed representatives on Earth, given their position, authority, and understanding directly from Jehovah through holy spirit.

    I guess they will claim to only be overseers when they are being questioned by lawyers, though.

    @Rattigan350 - "The Governing body members are not the leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Jesus is the leader. The GB are just overseers of the worldwide congregation. Why do people focus on these men so much?"

    If Jesus was leader of the Wt., then no one would be disfellowshipped for obeying his words over the changing doctrine – “shifting shadows” – of the Governing Body. (James 1:17) In a broadcast a while back, it was expressed by an elder (R. Curzan) that “Jehovah, the Governing Body, and the elders” deserve loyalty. Nothing was said about giving loyalty to your “leader”, Jesus Christ. I hope you can see that no, Jesus Christ is not the leader of the “mountainlike” organization, nor would he prefer to be. John 4:21-24

    Rattigan, if you truly believe that Jesus Christ in Heaven, has anything to do with the JW religion, then you have no business being on this forum. Jesus Christ would NEVER endorse a false religion AKA cult.

    All hail the governing body!

    @konagirl

    Mmmmm; Jesus always seems to get diminished or left out in JW rhetoric. BTW, thanks for the James citation. Spot on.

    Rattigan350 said, "Seabreeze - The Governing body members are not the leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Jesus is the leader."

    and we know Jesus is on the THIN side; in fact, you can see right through him (literally and figuratively). He is VERY H/W proportionate. So he is demonstrating the "Fruits of the Loom."
