    Hi

I started studying with Witnesses about 21 months ago. Started going to meetings in March 2017, went to the Memorial and attended my first Convention. I love it. I love studying and learning about Jehovah. I believe in him so much now, but I'm a trans woman, having GRS 12 years ago and starting hormones 20 years ago. The Congregation found out a week ago. Meeting with the Elders soon, but feel that I should leave and I just feel so sad now.

My bible teachers went over the Deuteronomy 22:5 verse.

I tried showing them a book "The Transsexual and the Cross: Disproving the myth that transsexuality is a sin' by Katie Leon (2013). They weren't interested because it was secular and had the cross in the title. I completely get that because I've almost completed the first "What does the bible teach" book. I'm not sure how I can present a theological argument, based on the bible. They did read my prayer, which was great.

I got the deep sense that I would need to become male again, but that will never happen in this system.

I don't want to leave. The Congregation are lovely and love me, and I feel a sense of connection and happiness that I haven't felt in a long time.

I think this is going to be very challenging for the Witnesses to deal with.

    Hello Allyson.

You might want to research the history of the watchtower corporation. JWFacts.com

Also, research mind control techniques and the B.I.T.E. model. http://www.apologeticsindex.org/167-mind-control-bite-model

What you decide is totally up to you. However, you may want to consider the discriminatory stance JWs are ordered to take on anyone that does not comply with their myopic view of what sexuallity is.

Meeting with the Elders soon, but feel that I should leave and I just feel so sad now.

I'm sorry to hear this...go with your gut. Get the hell out of there.

It was a cold stormy night and the Captain was asleep in his bunk. A knock comes at the door. "Sir, sir! There's a vessel in our shipping lane 20 miles out and it won't move!"

    "TELL IT TO MOVE!"

    "We have! It won't, Sir!"

    "I'LL TELL IT TO MOVE!"

"UNIDENTIFIED VESSEL, THIS IS CAPTAIN HORATIO HORNBLOWER THE 23RD! YOU ARE IN OUR LANE, MOVE 20 DEGREES STARBOARD, IMMEDIATELY!

reply: "This is Able Seaman Jonah Jones; you must move Sir!""

"WHAT??? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? THIS IS "BB-63" - THE MIGHTY MISSOURI, FLAGSHIP OF THE 7TH FLEET; I HAVE 9 X 16" GUNS AND I CAN BLOW YOU OUT OF THE WATER! NOW MOVE 20 DEGREES STARBOARD SAILOR!"

reply: "This is the lighthouse, Sir ..."

(with acknowledgement to the late great Steven Covey)

    Be a lighthouse.

So, this should prove that they are an unloving cult-like group...right?

Thank-you. I hope I can provide some theological argument that may shift the organization slightly. I'm enjoying the meetings, but know that I probably can't preach or teach for some time until their is a shift. maybe my theological argument will be my share

ally - I hope I can provide some theological argument that may shift the organization slightly.

I'm sorry to tell you, but the watchtower corporation will not listen to you. The elders will only go by what the corporation commands them to do.

It's very noble of you but you really don't know the corporation as well as we do. I WAS an elder and I can tell you first hand that it is a very unloving corporation. Sure, the people are quite decent in their own way, but they are under the iron fist of a leadership that pretends to be loving but in actuallity, is quite hateful.

I guarantee you'll be back here in no time telling us how badly it went.
