  A letter was read this week from the platform stating that publishers should not scour the obituaries and respond to the websites for condolences messaging. Apparently, it is not being taken too well by family and friends and the pubs are asked to REFRAIN from sending a message IF they are not friends or family of the deceased.

  I recall one sister used to visit grave yard sites and if she saw individuals there, went over and "consoled" them by offering the tract on Death and Your Loved Ones. I cannot even think of how I would have received her, being in my space and thinking she could do that.

  Apparently they have graduated by reading the obits.

  Not surprising though, what do you think JWS funerals are about ?,

  The given talk is a little about how loyal the died JWS member was in service and dedication to Jehovah via his earthly publishing house and then what grand reward they will receive for that dedication..

  Noting all the big smiles by the JWs attending to non JWS and alike.

  It gets to a point of creepiness.

  The families of the deceased we’re probably getting bombarded with witnesses sending resurrection hope.

  You can post condolences online now and the WTS lets you count the time. I bet jws use a canned presentation that supposedly took them an hour to compose. Then post it to 5 obits and count 5 hours.

  It's about damned time! I can't even begin to tell you how horrified non jw's are to find out about this practice of jw's cruising the obits just to send their crap and count time.

  Lost in the fog

  Can you imagine if it was in reverse and JWs were getting messages on their obits about their loved ones being in purgatory or in nirvana or heaven or wherever. They would be seeking judicial courts to trace down the perpetrators and seeking damages for mental distress or something similar.

  And they can't understand why other people are offended!?

  In the late 50's and 60's we were encouraged to "work" the cemeteries on occasion. I don't remember how we decided when to go or if was part of a territory assignment . Even then as a young person I thought it was an unwelcome intrusion.

  This has been SOP for decades.

  Even as a kid, I was appalled that some JWs had the audacity to intrude on the grief of others, just for an opportunity to exploit their vulnerable emotions at a very inopportune time for the grief-stricken.

  He was our neighbor and his widow stated that she didn't even know who this was. They didn't know any jw's but always shoo shooed them away.
