    Preparation not necessary.

Oh, but it is. Otherwise how will a person know how to prattle on for two or three minutes answering a question that has a simple "yes" or "no" answer as they try to impress everyone with how knowledgeable they are?

Gawd I am glad I do not run that hamster wheel any longer!

Shirley, yah, I hope I didn't come across as feeling sorry for myself. I knew kids, like you, who were drug out in fs every weekend, sorry, that must of sucked. and those congregations with later Sunday meeting times and odd weekday meeting schedules. I always felt sorry for the Spanish congregation. Seemed like they were the redheaded stepchild, always getting the crap meeting times. Late in the afternoon and even Saturdays.

And don’t forget about the family night you were supposed to have. Not just a family study. They wanted you to spend hours planning and organizing family dramas and deep discussions about every and any facet of your child’s or mate’s life.

But the sister whos house it was used to make us all a hot chocolate half way thru, so it wasnt all bad.

min, fat chance of parents have a family night. Most could not even swing a weekly family study. But they would count the time as if they were.

I was gone by the time Tuesday night book study was done away with and the society recommended a family night, with dramas and building a model Ark, etc... when I saw that for the first time, coming back, I was kinda jealous. That would've been a whole lot more fun than sitting around for an hour, reading paragraphs, looking up scripture, and doing research with the family, knowing in another few hours you were gonna have to do it all over again. Grueling.

    LHUE.

"meeting that finished at half nine or ten in the evening."..

Once my wife relied on bro uber to pick the family yup and get them home from such a meeting. As he is one who talks on and on and on after meetings my family got home after 10.00pm.

My wife said no more if I couldn't take them they didnt go.

    and

Once when I visited my sibling and his uber wife as we sat back with a hot drink after Thurs night double meeting she was going on (for my benefit) about the meetings...points.. this that blah. I looked at the wall clock and said we would be just getting home about now. (It was understood with kids to bed to school tomorrow..) and as some say here ....crickets.
