about a tale for which there is no evidence.
Depends on how you are defining evidence. For example, Jesus validated the tale as true. And because Jesus provided empirical evidence aka miracles to prove his credentials, we can believe Jesus based upon his being God’s son and having existed in heaven making him an authority.

Jesus validated the tale as true.
No matter how we wish the tale to be true, the internal evidence is lacking today.
take Jesus' affirmation of the global flood, inescapable because it covered even the highest mountains, the Himalayas.
There is no evidence that such mass, suffocating pressure was upon the earth for 9 month, only ~ 4000 years ago.Our dying is explained not by sin, but it's benefits ( I am in my last decade) for the species as a whole.
Will J or j somehow ensure a better future? hopefully. but frankly,
the ransom, sinless sacrifice model is outmoded.

The other way around. No matter how persuasive it is not true from a secular explanation, not only did the son of God confirm it is true but the entire Bible is about Gen 3:15. It is written in stone. It must be true. It is true by definition. It is hard to believe it.

Bible is about Gen 3:15
" you will bruise him in the heel", echoes of Achilles. really,
the idea that the deity would appease himself by providing for himself justification to undo failure. A playback, (or forward to law), to the instinctive bloodletting of the deep past.
It is written in stone.
tales from the stone age.

Of course, the whole enterprise is too magnificent to be reduced to fairytales, no matter how sophisticated.

Only evidence convinces the mind. Without empirical evidence it is impossible to have solid faith.

There are people who interpret Paul's words as original sin, but it is not very reasonable to inherit the sin and become a sinner by itself. Jesus never said anything about man being born with original sin. I think that Paul's intentions are misinterpreted by later generations.
