My son is 9yrs old. Anyone who meets him, is impressed by him. He is giving, loving, caring, and has made my life FULL.

He was so excited last weekend about the present he bought me. He wanted to tell me what my present was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. He is really bad about telling me what my presents are before he gives them to me.

Well, last night at midnight was "techinically" Mother's Day, so he couldn't wait, so he gave me my present.

I opened my present, and to my suprise............I had a ring made of silver and a HUGE light blue ROCK (my birthstone for Decemeber is a Blue Zicron sp?). The blue stone was the equivalent of about a 15K diamond shaped into a triangle.

I wasn't sure it was sterling silver, so when I took a shower, I took the ring off.

This evening, I took my son home after going to my mother's for mother's day, and I asked my x-husband if it was real silver (I didn't want to ask my son, didn't want to hurt his feelings).

My X-husband told me my son has been saving his allowence for 3-4 MONTHS to buy me this ring. And YES it is real silver. He paid ALOT for my ring.

I didn't care if it was real silver or not, just wanted to know if I could wear it all the time or if I had to take it off when I take a shower.

I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo TOUCHED that my son had saved for almost 3-4 months to buy me this ring, and he KNEW it was my birthstone.

I was soooooooooooo touched I was in tears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE my son SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much, and for him to put so much thought and effort into this ring.................I WEAR IT PROUDLY.........whether it was real or not.

My son knows I wear real silver, and if it is real, I NEVER take it off. So, he bought this for me KNOWING I would NEVER take it OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*in tears* That is the SWEETEST thing I can EVER think of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to share the most caring, sweetest, thoughtfull Mother's Day I have had.

Our Kids really know us don't they??????????????

JESSIE........MY SON............ I LOVE YOU........AND THANK YOU FOR THINKING ABOUT ME ON THIS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesika: I'm speechless...thus I'm rendered unable to speak, thus I will type .

I am so thrilled to read of your son's gift to you.

I know, no matter what the ring was made of, you would have been thrilled to bits.

Jesika - Rayzorblade thinks that you must be instilling some valuable intrinsic unconditional love into this son of yours; thus it is returned so freely. You're a darling!

    I love threads like this.

I'm in the mood for inspiration.

Estee...I just would like to add, I loved your post over at SheilaM's. I don't know if your grandmother's place was nestled along the shores of Lake Winnipeg or not, but when I remember Gimli, even "I" have fond memories (August 1992), walking along the sugary white sand in +30C heat. Priceless.

I'm in a very dreamy state right now. Reminiscing about my days living out in Saskatchewan.

Estee: I dedicate Chantal Kreviazuk's hit: "Before You" (1999) song to you. Manitoba's songbird from Morden-Winkler, MB. (near the border of North Dakota)

Jessie is a really good kid. I'm glad you had such a good Mother's Day.

Hi Jesika: I'm so happy for you. Yesterday I had a on my face for the whole day. I wasn't sure if either one of my kids would do anything. My daughter asked me to go with her to her church (we go to different ones) It was much different, but I really enjoyed it. Even bumped into old friends; one that I hadn't seen in years. When we got home my daughter made our lunch and we ate and chatted and spent the afternoon together. It was wonderful. Later in the day my son came over with a gift for me. He had burned six Pink Floyd cd's. (We both like Pink Floyd; I didn't tell him though that I don't like every thing they do - there are a few that I really like, such as the Wall) It was so sweet that he took the time to do this. I appreciated it much more than if he had bought a gift. My daughter asked why I was crying, but I just got a little teary eyed. Some day (hopefully) she will understand. The three of us had supper together and shared a bunch of laughs. I love to lie down after the day is over, and say "this has been a wonderful day" I'm glad it was a wonderful day for you also Jesika.

    Hi Jesika,

What a nice gift your son bought you. Don't you just love jewelry? Since, I am in the jewelry business, I thought I would let you know about real silver. If the ring is stamped inside with the mark .928, it is real silver. The number means how much genuine silver is used to make the ring. If the ring has no mark on it, then it probably is silver plated, which means the outside is silver but the inside is a base metal. Chances are if your son spent all that time saving for the ring than I think it is probably Sterling Silver.
