Yeah stillin they're going to have to do that eventually once everyone who overlaps with the 1914 generation has died off.
The thing is from what newbies on here say, young adult born-ins and new converts now don't know anything about the generation teaching at all! Yet still they convert or get baptised! Following all those life-crippling rules with no end in sight. Why?!

As others have said, JWs don’t talk about it, presumably because it’s embarrasong. Such a contrast with the 1980s when the old “generation” teaching provoked conversation and excitement, at least among some.

What has to be considered is, that in a funny way, two groups, when overlapping become 2 generations, because they generated.

I left before the whole overlapping generation nonsense started, and I am so glad I did. But one thing I do remember there were teaching that we were supposed to get, and some of those made absolutely no sense to me, and no matter how much I would try to figure it out I couldn't, only to discover those things didn't make any sense because it was a total sham.

The gist of this overlapping generation is that they (society) can expand the time of the end.. It is not 'Just Around the Corner" as they want to push....
It also is erasing the date of 1914 - slowly eroding that premise. If you take a look at scripture, no specific ages were given - they were born, had kids, came to power, died- but no months were given to give us an really distinct period a person lived. It was always like - came to the throne when he was 33, not 33 and 6 months... those months add a lot of time to each persons life span - even tho they look to Daniel and his count as specific. The only date recognized by history is the fall of Jerusalem in 70 ce. Babylon took Jerusalem 20 years before the 539 BCE mark-on the first attack - there were three attacks.
Time frame is off.....the overlapping generation ended supposedly in 90"S - everyone of the GB2 born after that is not of the overlapping generation- according to video of the march of time from the society explaining how they came to that final resolution of the overlapping generation time frame. It is on the inet somewhere within the past year. More confusing crap.
Let's realize, people are like sheep, they want someone else to do thinking and reaching conclusions for them.. when you hear enough of this babble, you are numb to see clearly and act.

In short this overlapping doctrine created by the WTS. is theological bullshit designed to uphold 1914 which in itself is theological bullshit.
Is it Biblically supported ? no ! but it gives confirmation to the men who are now the anointed GB members, once these guys die off the newly replaced GB members will have a problem on their hands.
This is how corrupt cults work, they change or create doctrines to suit themselves , substantiate them by quoting select writings of the given Holy books , then enforce them over their lured in members , watching carefully who agrees with these doctrines or not.
Since the WTS is structurally a religious publishing house, it is no wonder they implanted a strict enforcement over the established doctrines such as 1914.
