For each religion there's a starting point and then dogma and beliefs change over time as ideas are revised or culled.
Jehovah's Witnesses have done this and claimed that it was the light getting brighter through divine revelation.
However the early Christian Church did the very same thing, to which JWs point their finger at the history and claim that it is evidence of the great apostasy from the teachings of the disciples of Jesus.
You can't have it both ways. Every person can interpret the Bible as they see fit, declaring "no prophecy springs from private interpretation but as God has moved them by holy spirit" (broad paraphrase). If someone says they disagree then the new church decries that they are going against God and his spirit! Just as the JW Org does.
The whole thing is a joke. Religions are all man-made.
