Never smoked. allergic to the smoke. Hate the smell on people's clothing.

I can't even relate to why anyone would start.

Fortunately, I never tried cigarettes when all of my friends had a go. I could never see the sense in paying out money just to burn. Of course I never gave myself the chance to get addicted. I feel sad for ones who have got addicted, although I truly hate being in the company of smokers, especially after a nice meal.

Recently my dad was taken into hospital with emphisema (I don't know if that's the correct spelling) and it was so tragic to see him and so many others fighting for breath or their faces covered with oxygen masks.

For most of my married life, I was a militant anti-smoker gal, but would often smoke when we were on vacations, driving in the car (I'm talking 38 years ago, everyone). Dave smoked the first 8 years we were married and quit two years before it became a DF offense. Now he smokes a pipe, and I like it. Not in the house though, so he does it outside. I've been known to smoke a cigarette or two.

I was never bothered by the smell, but don't like smoke in my face, and hate it when people are smoking in line, and hold their cigarette, away from themselves, so it is drifting right into my face.

I am trying hard to become the least judgmental person I know..................since I used to be the most judgmental person I knew.

that is a great attitude! ((((((((Mulan)))))))

I guess I'll add my .02. I sometimes smoke when I'm having a few drinks with friends. I have never had the craving unless I've been drinking.

I married a smoker. He doesn't smoke in the house- only outside, so my house has never smelled like smoke. I don't know how he does it, but he (meaning his clothes, hair, etc.) never smells like smoke so that's good. You definitely can't tell that we have a smoker living in our house. We would have problems if my house reeked.

Anywho, to each his own. It doesn't bother me.

    definitely non-smoker.

even won a lawsuit over the issue with a hospital which permitted their trustees to smoke in non-designated areas.

in one of my jobs i have to handle a lot of cash at times - i can even smell it on the money. eeuw.

Non smoker now, but smoked for 30 years while in college, military, and afterward. Cigarettes were cheap then. Quit about 17 years ago after three tries. Find it very offensive now. Don't know how the wife put up with it for all those years.

I am a NON smoker. In the past I lived with smokers.. everything stinks! peee-ewww! I will never live that way again. Now that I have lived with mt asthmatic Sweet Vampyre and my asthmatic son, I have no tolerance for smoking around me. Sweet Vampyre's son is 11 months old and asthma free.. Much to my father in law's shock. He was sure the kid would carry on the family tradition of severe asthma... but the whole family smokes like chimineys... well, the few left alive still smoke, the other's died of it. My Vampyre had both parents smoking at the time he was concieved, his mom quit when she was pregnant but the dad was still smoking around her. My Vampyre grew up in a cloud of smoke... despite his asthma and the doctor's warnings. Our little Tristan has never inhaled any smoke and I hope he never will. I am a huge pain in the butt to anyone who tris to light up arpund my kids. I can't appologize for that. Their health is at stake. I know a few smokers and I hope for their own sake's and their kid's that they will quit... soon. ~Witch
