Is politeness out of style?

  I bartend at a very nice hotel. I am very fortunate to get to work at a great place. The customers are constantly complimenting how polite the staff is. I enjoy being nice and helpful to our guest. It makes me feel good to be polite.People get in too much of a hurry and self absorbed to notice or care about others. I have met some of the most interesting people by slowing down and taking the time to help them or talk to them.

  I will not ever go back to a place if the staff is rude...this is one of my major pet peeves! Excellent customer service is very important to me and is becoming more and more rare.( I have my opinons on why it is becoming more rare)

  As for nice guys not getting the chicks...please let me know where they are!!

  I hold open doors for any human, let people pass me on the road if they are in a hurry, wave truckers in front of me when people are blocking them from leaving the highway, let old women get in front of me at the supermarket if they look tired or weighed down with groceries, say good morning to whomever I meet, etc. You can't ruffle my feathers in public-
