I hate when the CO would go overtime. Especially on Sunday morning during football season....

The NFL or Bible crap which would I prefer....

Austrian - LOL, wasn't that the worst when he'd run over!?? Oy vay! When I first started to drift out of the borg, I chose watching ER vs. the theocratic ministry school. Hehehe.

    What the heck?.....

I wasn't given the knowlege book for my fake study...I was give a booklet "What Does God Require of Us?

I always have lots of questions that she can't answer.

I could tell she hadnt even read the mags she sold to me the week before, when i started asking questions, she had to glance over the mags to even see what i was asking about and then just said "I don't know"

Oh well, she'll be back next Monday at 1PM

Yep, this "stealth" stuff has been going on for a long time. Let's face it - if they came out and said what they really expect of people, no one would bite. This way, the try to reel 'em in slowly and then hook 'em.

Yikes Mary. It must have been so painful, to sit through that. I just shudder at the thought.

And overtime to boot. What a surprise !

LOL @ Runningman. May want to forward that to the WTS. It would be another way to increase the number of baptisms.

Actually, the stealth continues in many different areas. You may receive a bible study without knowing it. But, even if you ask them an outright question on several subjects, they will lie to you until you are hooked. Then you get the full picture when it's too late. Consider:

Ask a witness: Are you here to convert me? They will say "no", we are doing a Bible educational work. This is a lie. They are there to convert you.

Ask a witness: Are JWs the only ones who will survive armageddon? They will say "no", it is up to God to decide. This is a lie. What they don't tell you is that they know for a fact that God will decide to save only JWs, and even then, only the really good ones.

Ask a witness: Am I allowed to vote or take a blood transfusion? They will say it is up to every person's concience. This is a lie. What they don't tell you is that, although it is up to your individual concience, your individual concience bloody well better tell you not to do it.

Ask a witness: Are persons disfellowshipped for voting or taking blood transfusions? They will say "no". This is a lie. They believe that if you do these things, you are indicating that you are no longer a Witness, and you will be shunned as disassociated, which is exactly the same as disfellowshipping.

So, the Witnesses have a long history of stealth when it comes to converting people. They have to be stealthy. If they told people outright what they believed and what they were trying to do, before that person became committed, they would never convert anyone.

And to top it all of, the CO went 20 minutes overtime,

Somebody should have told him his time was up, with a buzzer or something.

October 2000 KM advise more stealth tactics!

A simple presentation is all that is needed. You might say:
    · “I have volunteered my time to help distribute this very important message to every family in [name of city or county]. This is your copy. Please read it.” It may be advantageous not to carry a witnessing case when distributing Kingdom News No. 36.

".....Somebody should have told him his time was up, with a buzzer or something....." You're absolutely right..........remember when we all gave the 5 or 6 mintue talks? If you were working on Timing, they'd hit a bell if you were more than 10 seconds overtime and you'd get a "Work On". Why the hell is it then, that all the elders can ALWAYS go overtime on the KM, the WT Study or the Bookstudy, and you're not supposed to say anything!!! And of course, all the cheese & cracker dubs were there in full force to try and suck up to the CO........(one gossipy sister who's on every drug known to mankind) was all decked out in an orange and green dress after spending the last 40 years at the bottom of a trunk. I heard her moaning to the CO about all her health problems and how she hopes Jehovah "understands."

I have a relative that just loves to talk about his field service experiences. This guy spends hours and hours in the service and never, ever even gets a nibble of interest. But he will tell these experiences as if he just ran along side a chariot and baptized someone himself this morning. Almosts always it goes something like this, "I met a nice man(woman) this moring while in the field ministry. They were so interested and asked good questions. I explained to them why I was there and explained to them of course that we weren't there to convert them from their religion......"

I never remember the rest of his experiences because all I can remember thinking everytime he says that is, "If you aren't at their door to convert them, then what the hell are you there for?!"

They can call it a Bible education work all they want, but it all boils down to them trying to convert people into their religion, pure and simple.

Whenever our C.O. went over time, I gave him five minutes then I got up and left.

Once I was asked why I did that, and I said, "cause he went overtime. It's a basic instruction in the TMS that you can't go overtime. He's setting a bad example."

    Didn't get asked again.
