I just read this story on-line.
On the radio the past couple of days, they have been busy broadcasting information about this little girl. I was hoping for a positive outcome, then I read the on-line news, and I was crushed .
Disgusting, tragic and well there are too many words.
Mary, if they capture the bastard, I think your terms of metting out justice (dynamite attached to his dick) - seems befitting. Here's the match Mary, go light it.
The thing with CP (capital punishment), at least up here to a degree, is the fear of hanging an innocent man/woman. Even within the last 10 years, there've been cases where the person who spent many years/decades behind bars, was released because of new evidence, DNA(best one) and so many other contributing factors.
In Winnipeg, there was a fellow convicted of a murder he did not commit (can't remember his name); Guy-Paul Morin, accused of killing Christine Jessop north of Toronto, proven innocent for many reasons, and then again by DNA evidence. David Milgaard, from Saskatoon, SK., and one of Canada's most infamous cases: Stephen Truscott (1959), Clinton, Ontario.
The thing nowadays, with DNA being better than a fingerprint or even viewed at the scene, there's little one can do to refute innocence or guilt.
I can totally empathize with people wanting euthanize a prick/bastard (you pick your favourite adjective) like a child killer or deviant ruthless murderer. The thing that keeps it at bay here is the recent cases of 'guilty, later proven innocent'. It has happened, and sad to say, I'm sure it has happened numerous times around the globe.
Nonetheless, I hope they find this son of a bitch. And Mary, I'd hand you the stick of dynamite, match and rope. Go get'm!
So sad and heartbreaking for Holly's parents, and the city of Toronto. Generally, a very safe metropolis. But today, it seems very unsettling.
