I would have thought playing footie onto a garage door would be very annoying because (a), the banging noise that makes, (b), it could dent the door or leave marks.
But your reason was something else entirely.
Witness My Fury, " I would have thought playing football onto a garage door would be very annoying..."
As a " nipper" when my boy was 4,5,6, years old, that garage door was more than a garage door. Even today it's more than a garage door, it's a place where we play other ball games. We also have a basket hoop near it. That garage door should be named " Our play door" because it has given so much more meaning and fun to my families life, than being simply a garage door....the dents and marks on a garage door, don't effect the value of the property, but the dents and marks on a garage door can be a place where a family shared love.
Taking my O.P slightly off topic, if you are fortunate and have a garage connected to the house, I would advise calling in the builders and converting the garage in to an extended kitchen, or additional living room space. This will both put value on your property and give you the comfort of more living space, also you will be the envy of all your neighbors.
Good lesson. Thanks for sharing! And yes I think we all struggle sometimes with explaining ourselves accurately because we assume ppl know what we're talking about or the reasons why we say something. That applies in everyday life as u mentioned.
