Think of the possibilities. Bedside bible studies. While a person is half asleep just read the WT lit to them. While they are in this semi stupor just think of how easy it would be to let all of those troofs enter their minds. Brain-washing could take less time than ever and you could maybe even baptize them in the tub by morning.

I had some of those publications from the pioneering brothers, I had a bible that was printed upside down.
Did you part..um pioneer with the proofreading staff?

No, as I remember, those in proofreading were older persons with more sense concerning their health and well-being - not speaking religiously, of course. I think the defective books were the result of pressure being put on the "bindery brothers" to get the work out. They often had to move so fast to keep up with others in the production line that "haste made waste" now and then. That was a real "sweat shop" if ever I saw one, especially on hot and humid days in June, July and August. Still, some of those young guys also felt the pressure to be auxiliaries in April. It's no wonder there was a big turnover in Bethelites in those years. Lots of slavish labour month-after-month with no pay to speak of. "What fools we mortals be!"

Funny, I had not thought of this for probably 15 years. During the summer months, our hall DID have evening door to door work.
Big was the night of the book study, where we would knock on doors, then have the book study. Oh, the bad memories.
I remember thinking back then, as a kid, how could they screw this up even more so! They are taking all my time!!

Pioneers in our area do late night witnessing. They visit gas stations and all night stores.
The latest I would go was 9:00pm and only to those stubborn "not at homes". I did this when I was pioneering and had to put in those long days of 10 or 11 hours.
I am so happy those days are gone.
