Too right Steve. I was enjoying a longish drinking session with some friends of mine sitting outside a local Pub, back in our Summer.

I observed two "Sisters" manning a cart for a couple of hours, it was tucked almost out of sight just a few yards from me, no one approached them in the two hours or so I was there.

Steve - I agree, never thought of that before. I imagine 'apostates(tm)' would be on the 'do not call(tm)' list.

Phuzz - You mean you didn't offer them an alcoholic libation?

steve2 - "At the current rate, JWs doing trolley work have a far greater likelihood of talking to ex-JWs than anyone else. Who else - apart from fellow JWs - purposely strikes up a conversation with them?"

You'd have thought that that would occur to the decision-makers... :smirk:

Oh, those idiots are detached from reality.

I think it did occur to the watchtower and they might have planed it like that ???.People on the carts are not allowed to make the first move they can only stand there and hope that somebody makes the first move. But its good for them sa they can get their hours in and if the weather is nice then its doubly good. And its good for the watchtower because the rank and file are not espically bothered about giving out mags and books so they keep on the trolley and have a very long shelf life.I have taken books that were printed in 2012 2010 2006 and even 2004.(and trashed them of course )On some carts they even put the mags and books in little plastic bags to keep them longer

No, one of them is a girl who suffered lack of oxygen at birth, and is therefore very lacking in social skills etc, I know my simply speaking to them would have put her in an awkward frame of mind. ( It strikes me as cynical to get her to man a cart, rather than get her to knock on doors, which would make the JW's look silly).

The other one is a strait-laced old maid type who would have had pleasure in rejecting anything I offered, even a soft drink, or an ice cream, I was not prepared to suffer her smug superiority.

But the whole thing was a monumental waste of effort, my friends with me did not even register the presence of JW's, what kind of "witness" is this ?

    A Non-witness.

Each to their own however, I would never divulge that I was once a JW. It is in my past and will forever remain in my past.
