    Hey there Scoob

Yes, many issues here have been hashed and rehashed 100 times. Some of the "hashers" have understandably gotten tired and irritable, but I'm a "hashee," and I'm confronting many of these subjects from a non-JW perspective for the first time in my life, so I find virtually everything posted here interesting...sometimes even provocative. Perhaps, after 10 years or so (about the "normal" hash cycle of the WTS), I too will begin to tire of the repetitiveness.

However, this little voice in the back of my mind tells me that the next 10 years will see a lot of things happen that will keep the "hash" nicely warmed up.

Craig...!! You mean I gotta wait for a whole 'nother 10 years to get my "hash" warmed up too?!!, lets hope the new system comes before then! Love to Katie.

Katie says love back at ya!

Another 10 years? Naw. Too many things are changing against the WTS, fundamental things: JW kids no longer following the usual "pioneer" routine, the pedophile-protection-policy-under-the-guise-of-Bible-doctrine being outed, unwanted media attention about pedophilia and DFing, high-profile born-and-raised JW murderers, the "end of the world" mentality now no longer holding such sway with JWs, the Internet, the parousia (LOL, I couldn't resist that) of millions of exJWs on the world, etc.

Society will have it's way with the Society. Sooner rather than later, I suspect.

    *lol*

BTW I do get fed up of hearing the same thing over, but I just tend to wash over it and move on to whatevers new.

    Now go get some sleep

Brummie...... Since when were you my mother ( get to bed indeed!!) If stirring the pot here is to disagree, I'll keep stirring of course....... 20 years? hmmm we'll see.

Craig.... Most you state, I've never seen, JW youths not entering the pioneer ranks? hmm maybe not, (love of the greater number cooling off?) but the hall looked pretty packed to me last time I attended as did the convention last year, and probably again this year (I'll let ya know!) But I'm worried about your statement "high profile JW murderers" ????? The end of the world mentality you say? I'm worried about another mentality far closer to here. ....You know, you're beginning to sound "apostate".....LOL ....say it ain't so......

I wonder if you repeat this question to yourself, Scooby. .....Perhaps YOU can come up with something fresh and true, you know pro-Witness.

Scoob, admittedly some of my comments are based on anecdotal (though reasonably reliable) sources. Of course, every area is different. The "high-profile b&r JW murderers" I'm thinking of are Christian Longo, and one other (I can't remember the name) both here in Oregon. Longo was DFd some time back, but a part of his defense was how he was raised, as a JW. It was plastered all over the news here, including the closing arguments of the penalty phase just last month. Obviously not the "fault" of the WTS, but the very kind of direct or indirect negative publicity to which the WTS is very vulnerable, given the "holier-than-thou, we're good/you're bad" attitude that many (most?) JWs have presented over the last few decades.

But, now I must shower and head off for the weekend with Katie. You have a great weekend.

No question, Scoob. Hashing, re-hashing is a mainstay here. Of course it is at least partly due to the participants - many are new, and this is the first time they have taken the perspective to look at these issues. Many have been around here for a while, many out of the truth for a long time. For us, it is nice to encourage.

Also, sometimes, a new topic pops up. And this a good place to get the inside view from some that still attend and get the literature (thanks, Blondie)

Oh yeah, one more thing: When I was growing up I was resposnible for bringing a couple other kids into the 'truth' - one may still be in. I would like to make up for that.
