That's because Simon was part of the argument. Often when two posters who aren't mods get into arguments the threads are shut down. Even if they are in the heated debate forum.

Stinkypantz that is my point exactly. And Simon is right it is not the end of the world. Not even close. But it is a matter of respect and fairness. (Even if it is just the perception of it.)
