  I must say there is no other religion in modern times that has lied more to their cult followers than the Watchtower Company and no more brain dead, gullible cult members than the JDubs.

  Just three examples. When Russel was in charge 1914 was prophesied to be the end of the system of things with Armageddon and the earthly paradise. That didn't happen and poof now 1914 was not the end, oh no, it was the beginning of the end.

  The second example, the generation that saw 1914 would not pass away before the end came, which meant in all JDubs minds that paradise had to be here in the late 1990's. Well, the generation did die and we now have the overlappers.

  The third example is 1975. Many of today's JDubs don't know about the "stay alive till 75" war cry and don't even care. Us old timers were lied to and then the Borg hinted so many times that they never said the end was coming in 1975 and we had overactive imaginations.

  How can the JDubs still worship in a religion that has lied to them so much and bow down and kiss the ring of the 8 popes in New York who are like self-licking ice cream cones?

  Because they don't know they are being lied to. The Borg does a great job of controlling what information their members consume. If you never allow yourself to be exposed to alternative points or view, or an alternative narrative for your religion that is different than what you have been fed, you will remain captive to their lies.

  I don't think most of their current members are aware of the extensive date setting for Armageddon that has occurred in the Watchtower's past. And they won't allow themselves to hear about it because they are told that anyone that utters a criticism about the Borg must be opposers, apostates, or whatever current buzz word they are using to label anyone they view as dissenters.

  BTW ... props on the "the 8 popes in New York who are like self-licking ice cream cones" comment. Its spot on.

  I think it’s either they refuse to know / are generally unaware / or don’t know the significance of it. Even Ray stated in CoC, that Knor openly had some doubts about 1914, and that 1914 was the brain child of Freddie. If it wasn’t for Freddie having so much authority the idea would of never taken off. I wouldn’t mind betting there are some at the top who would like to ditch this overlapping 1914 nonsense, but the idea is just to intrenched to change with out serious consequences. There really is no other option but to keep on going with it.

  In my case I had no idea of the UN or child abuse scandals (just to name a few), although I was aware of 1975 and I vaguely knew that there was a connection with pyramids with 1914. It wasn’t until I started visiting here that I found out the real story and the significance of the overlapping nonsense. I feel rather foolish to think I spent 40 years in a religion that I knew nothing about.

  Probably because I think the average JW needs a belief system and something to hang-on to. Kind of like a child and a lollipop.

  good reminder. We not only have anointed overlappers but Other Sheep overlappers too.

  Good thing for wt. Sheep are good for fleecing, roasting. who cares wether they overlap. actually males better overlap the females, how can you have new generation food & clothing, golden fleeces?

  If you have any doubt about the 'truth', you just gotta read Crisis of Conscience. That will clinch it.

  That one utterly blows me away, because there are still teachings dependent upon the older understanding.

  By far the most important from a JW point of view is the Great Crowd teaching. In JW theology, this group survives the great tribulation.

  The clock therefore starts ticking the instant that group is identified and the time interval cannot exceed a human lifespan.

  Why JW's (And even some xJW's) have a hard time understanding that is beyond me.

  1914 is slowly being fazed out,Soon it will be like 1975 if anyone mentions it they will be accused of "Running ahead of the W.T.S" or "We have new lite" or whatever other B.S they can come up with.

  I predict they will come up with a new date like 1986 the U.N year of peace and security or what ever date suits them.

  I noticed that ever since 2014, 1914 hardly has any traction or mentioned anymore. Have to 'phase it out', to prevent 'followers' from creating a 'tide of doubters'!!
