Here is the official WTS response. Basically, it is "we know we have the truth already and we aren't searching for something else."
If I had a dollar for every time I responded with that self-righteous bullshit response. This is something that always bothered me too.
Even though I was raised as a JW I often thought it was very hypocritical that I refused to read my friends religious material yet tried to shove mine down their throats.

Sandy, I feel and felt the same way. I remember an older one in the congo would reply with:
"Well, I found you by going door to door to give you this literature, so if you want to give me your literature you will have to go door to door and find me."
I always thought that was the stupidest, rudest answer.
