    Thanks for posting this thread Barbara- and even yet the WT Society STILL supports thousands of child molesters within their congregations insisting elders not contact police until WT legal departments are informed of child abuse incidents. I'm quite sure most of the local JW's in this man's area learned of his child abuse crimes from watching the news on channel 5 - not from local elders. And THAT is one of the big problems- JW parents are constantly sitting in a kingdom hall with their children right along side a child molester- without even knowing it. That is dangerous shit. And another irresponsible evidence that the WT Society is indeed a criminal organization- protecting criminals

    The news report states that, when one of the young victims told a family member what happened, they informed the police.

After the link was sent to me I looked around to find if the information was recent, but couldn't find anything. Please, if you have the time, darkspilver, maybe you could locate an update about this case. I'd sure like to know the outcome.

    Thanks flipper for your post. Your words are a reminder of two of the Watchtower's worst child abuse policies - 1) when a molestation takes place, elders are to call the WT Legal Dept. first and not the police. (Perhaps in this case, the young victim's family member was not a JW and that's why the authorities were called, not the elders), and 2) the confidentiality policy which definitely can have dangerous consequences for other kids in the KH.

    Rather than being an exampe of confirmation bias, I think this more an example of post-truth - it's not fake news, sadly the news report is true, but some 14 months old. But the way it was presented here, effectively makes it 'post-truth'.

    I find that extremely hard to believe. Where did you look?

    I simply copy and pasted the thread title YOU used, into Google and up popped, oh yes, the VERY FIRST result to the page I linked to above, you might get slightly different results, but I'm sure you get the point

    That actually means I located the original news item / video footage in LESS TIME than it took you to post it!!

    I notice the the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation website at http://inmatelocator.cdcr.ca.gov shows an inmate, with the same first, middle and last name who was admitted on 24 November 2015, but is listed as being 46, which doesn't match up with the news reports??


    (in case anyone is wondering, we've briefly PM'ed each other previously, and I've said "I call a spade-a-spade" - and therefore to please not take what I say personally)

    Darkspilver is worse than an outspoken defender of JW organization: His putdowns are more subtle and he likes to create an air of greater-than-you knowledge and reasoning. I've noticed that his comments appear intended to dilute the impact of any coverage on this forum regarding JW organization's own culpability in connection with child-abuse allegations and/or convictions.
