I tried this a couple months ago with a friend I had way back in the day (from 3rd grade to Jr High) in Florida. he had a pretty uinqe name so I looked him up. Got an email and dropped a note saying Hi. He was happy to hear from me. It felt good to say hi. We haven't emailed each other since, but it was cool to make contact with someone I haven't seen or heard from in over 10 years.

Jesika, this is so cool! Something I really like about you, is that you do not hold others to unrealistic expectations. When you wrote your dad, you did not expect him to change his colours and suddenly become loving and forgiving. You did your part (letting him know how you feel) and let it go. That is such an emotionally mature thing to do.
I see the same pattern here, as you look up old friends. I like this statement,
I suppose the worst that could happen is to NOT get a reply.
Everybody, it is fun to take a trip down memory lane, and look up lost friends. Just remember, you can't hold people to behave the way you wish they would. Do what Jes did - put the feelers out, speak from your heart, and let them make up their own mind if they want to connect.
Maybe, just maybe, something wonderful will happen!

Truth........I know what you mean,I am not expecting to jump right back into being bestfriends again, but it is nice to have the chance to touch base again. Who knows what my be in store untill you try.
Jgnat........Thank you hon, that was very sweet of you. I was always told in therapy "the only person you can control is you", so I don't try and change anyone ,but like to give myself the option of finding out what people are about, or just moving on and never knowing. I am the type that wants to know, so I tried.
I will update everyone again.........I have recieved an email from Amy again today, and we talked on the phone for a while yesterday. I was so excited I couldn't sleep, and ended up going to work with no sleep at all, boy was I beat when I got home, but I slept pretty good.
I will update more when I have more.
I had the letter to Jen sent out either yesterday or today, so I will let you all know if my bestfriend from childhood responds. I am not expecting her to, but at least she will know how to contact me if needed and know I still love her.
