To "my brother" SwordofJah

With all respect to the opinions of everyone that posts here:

We (most) all came from the same "womb," as it were. We share common experiences, feelings...we shared common beliefs and practices. Some of us were literally "born" into it; others accepted it by adoption. That, by definition, makes us brothers and sisters. What's the point in slamming individuals?

Furthermore, to say that absolutely everything that happened to us in the WTS, and that everything the WTS teaches is wrong, is absurd on the face of it. That is nothing less than to say that:

    1) every one of us were complete idiots; forthwith we have no business now telling other "idiots" how they should believe and behave until we ourselves have sorted out these issues for ourselves. Have you got it all sorted out? I've not; nor, I suspect, have any others here;

    2) there are no "decent" people left in the WTS. So then why are we in this forum? If there's nothing left to "save," then why waste the effort of posting here?

You all know that I have no mercy in my heart when it comes to "the organization;" I'm doing whatever I can to reduce it to the lowest possible level. But when it comes to people who are still, in whatsoever way, involved with the org, they are still my brothers and sisters. That's why I termed SOJ as my brother in that other thread. There are many others who I'm talking with off-line, and off-board, in a similar "find a common ground, let's see where this takes us" mode.

Again, my respects to all of you.

you missed Orange Juice Jones "Walking in the Rain"

Great. Wonderful. Why did I hafta read *that*? Now I know I will be walking around with that song playing in my head... for a couple of days at least.

"I saw you (and him, and him) walkin' in the rain....

I was prepared to like (as I am anyone) SOJ, but some of her/his comments to others border on vile. I wonder if Sword realizes that her/his exemplar, Jesus, would never speak to others in the manner which s/he has?

It is too funny to see the love fest between Scooby and SoJ. However, FredHall and YouKnow really were better. Unless they both took on new identies and got new IPs...

Since SoJ only posts on weekdays I am guessing he/she/it posts from his/hers/it's place of employment. Which means SoJs spouse (or dog/companion) would not approve of he/she/it frequenting apostate DB. Which makes SoJ kinda wussy. IMHO.

Scooby is a confused JW who we should all show compassion and brotherly (and sisterly) love to. Scooby is a perfect candidate to be taken over by the dark side. It will happen....it is just a matter of time. When Scooby started posting fluff, the turn began. It always begins with fluff. Think about it Scoob....

I think integ hit the nail on the head:

This is like a bad pro wrestling league.....Sword of Jah is the perfect villian, and Scooby Snax is like his/her manager.....I want to be the announcer/interviewer. Sword of Jah would come out in a bad suit and use his book bag as a weapon. And then do the pioneer shuffle on someones face as his secret move. Then Scooby would lift up her leg and pee on the hapless opponet while he is being pinned. Then Sword of Jah, amid a chorus of boos, would yell into the microphone "SHUT UP EVERYBODY........PRAISE JAH YOU PEOPLE....AND ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM". Scooby would then bark uncontrollably. The secret weapon against Sword would be a blood sausage tossed at him.

    That is soooo funny!!!

Of course SoJ and Scoob think each other's posts are reasonable. If you're a Witness, the only logical and reasonable opinion is one that agrees with the collective mind. I know and remember it well, for I was there not that long ago.

What's unreasonable is that JW's automatically dismiss different opinions as wrong, irrational, or Satan-inspired.

When will these poor JW's realize that they can and should think on their own? Oh wait, that's bad because that's what Satan said to Eve in the garden of Eden. (Yet another reason I think the Bible promotes cults.) Unfortunately, the WTS prohibits any of its members from really listening to an opposing viewpoint and deciding for themselves which might be right. This conflicts with the Bible:

    ***

Rbi8 Proverbs 18:13 ***13 When anyone is replying to a matter before he hears [it], that is foolishness on his part and a humiliation.

Consider how the WTS automatically labels all who disagree with the WTS as "apostates." Now consider this:

    ***

    g00 6/22 p. 6 The Manipulation of Information ***
    Name-Calling
Some people insult those who disagree with them by questioning character or motives instead of focusing on the facts. Name-calling slaps a negative, easy-to-remember label onto a person, a group, or an idea. The name-caller hopes that the label will stick. If people reject the person or the idea on the basis of the negative label instead of weighing the evidence for themselves, the name-caller’s strategy has worked.

The WTS criticizes name-calling and blindly following beliefs when talking about non-JWs, but then turns around and requires its members to do those exact things!

My, my, what I surprise to find this thread again this morning.

integ: Sword of Jah is the perfect villian, and Scooby Snax is like his/her manager.....I want to be the announcer/interviewer.

Stynkypantz: So SOJ no one else is sincere and reasonable? If you think that others fit this description, does it mean that you like us too?

No, that's not what I said. I was simply stating why I like Scooby. There are others that I appreciate: DJ because he is reasonable and I'm able to have a peaceful discussion with him. HILLARY-STEP (when he's not insulting me) has a very interesting view point specially coming from his extensive JW background. CRUZANHEART, I like also although she might not like me that much. Integ also is interesting, he doesn't insult and I enjoy his humor. I also enjoy jst2laws and shera. Just a few off the top of my mind.

Xena: Your alike in that your both a bit of naughty....posting on an apostate board

I prefer to use the word BRAVE.

ScoobySnax: ...and I want to pay tribute to SwordofJah...... whatever they say, I'll watch your posts carefully. I think alot of the time you are wasting your time chucking scripture around, and trying to reason. I know exactly where you're coming from though.

You're not like me in lots of ways, but you are in others. I respect your cool stand, never getting narked like I do when you get so much stick. I hate seeing nastiness shoved your way.

    Thanks!

But like they sa y, we put ourselves here, so let 'em fire!! Ha ha!!

Very true. That's why I don't let it get to me, but if the insults start getting rediculous then I just quit that thread.

drwtsn32: What's unreasonable is that JW's automatically dismiss different opinions as wrong, irrational, or Satan-inspired.

That's not true, not every different opinion is irrational or Satan-inspred. But the ones that fall into that category are very easy to spot.

lol....Moi? Don't take yourself so seriously Sword. This Board is not real life you know...By the way, have you ever noticed how much like a window-washing pole your profile picture looks like....Oh, no...here I go again....

Develop a sense of humor like Scooby and you will enjoy tormenting 'apostates' much more.

Yes, they're the opinions that disagree with the JW's.
