Thanks ladies for all your imput...Hey you whimpy guys, how come so quiet??? Afraid big mama's gonna see you write something they don't like??? And I agree that a man should take care of himself, (and me with a 30'' waist!) I have to admit I dye my hair, I'm almost 50 and it would be all gray. Not ready for that! I look about 30 and I'm not going down without a fight! Some ladies look good with short hair, but most just look 'manly' Maverick

My hair's really long- and it's my only asset; so I have to keep it or i'd have nothing else going for me..

The problem is that I use 1/2 a bottle of conditioner everytime I wash it and I expect that's why alot of women cut theirs; it's a lot of trouble to keep it in good condition. I never use a hair dryer or styling products as they wreck it, I just plait it every night to keep it really soft.

Men with long hair? Lovely! as long as it's in good condition and they don't get all precious and girly about it

Why do women cut their hair? Because it takes so much work to look after and keep it looking nice! And since women are the ones that do most of the house-work and child-caring (even if they work full-time like their husbands), then they have very little time to look after their hair.

Orbiting brings out a good point. How come it's ok for a guy to start getting a pot-belly and go bald, but a woman who does the unthinkable like cut her hair is "letting herself go"?

Prisca, who said it is all right for a man to let himself go? And generaly women do perm, color, blow-dry and in many other ways strip their hair all their lives. Most men don't grow it out until adulthood. As for baldness, I don't know any men that ask for that one. It is a great fear of young men. Still only the ladies responding to this thread, no guys, what a bunch of chickens--ts. Maverick

Hee hee Dedalus! I like men with short to NO hair. I prefer smooth heads actually. Lately I keep cutting my hair because I'm stressed out. It's not that short, just above shoulder length. I don't know about cutting your hair and gaining a bunch of weight after you get married...I've never been married. *shrugs*
