I find it weird that people can leave the bord and then still believe in an imaginary friend, and that the imaginary friend wants them to follow some other belief system. "God approves of something other than the borg"...

That's funny donkey. I find it weird that someone could have faith in God and then because they have a bad experience in a religion decide that He's an imaginary friend. Strange world, huh?

Siegswife,
So let me see if I understand this then. You believe in some unprovable/unknowable being(there imaginary friend - if you cannot prove his existence then he is imaginary until you can prove otherwise) who speaks to the "select few". You then disregard the "select few" but still believe in the unprovable/unknowable being but now find some other source for the unprovable/unkowable being to supposedly communicate to you? Did I understand that correctly?
Jack
PS...I did not have some "bad experience", I left because the whole schema was irrational and lacking acceptable explanation.

I always felt like we were going to live in the 1800's and live like quakers.
I recall hearing,we will regain 100% use of our brains and we will never run out of things to do.
Also,I always pictured we would be walking around like robots, always happy and never had many emotions.Nothing wrong with being happy, but why would we have all these feelings and God take them away.God gave us pain..but we would only feel pain somewhat....What would happen if we lost and arm? just wait for awhile and it would grow back, like we're a tadpole?
In ways these things are ok..but we would be like..oh I lost an arm today,I'll just give it a week and I'll be able to play every insturment again.
I don't want to sound insentive, because we would love to see here, people able to regain use of their bodies and minds again,it just seems so far fetched in a world like that. I'm feeling confused I have to end this now...lol

Look donkey, I don't want to hijack ozzie's thread so I'll make this brief.

No, do you do not understand that correctly regarding what I believe, OK?

I know what you mean, Star. I often wondered that myself.
