I agree with minimus. I'm naturally militant, but have learnt if you go too far people just ignor you, they find it very easy walking past people with placards or handing out leaflets at assemblies. But if you went to an assembly entrance dressed in a lamb costume (A la 'Trigger Happy TV'), giving out balloons with a silentlambs logo on for example, you can imagine the long queue of kids you'd have wanting one to walk around with and parents trying to explain why they can't have one - "Its because their trying to stop child abuse." It would've got me thinking.

Militancy of any sort is something I'm not very comfortable with. Sometimes the message is great but the manner that it's expressed is unsavory. ALWAYS being angry over issues is usually counter-productive to the cause, in my opinion

I think you and I have different ideas of exactly what "militant" means. I prefer definition #2 below (depending on the shading of 'combative')...I believe I am aggressive (as in 'proactive') in pointing out the flaws of the WT, but not constantly angry. Are members of the military "always angry"? No, that would not be a good quality in a soldier - one should be ready to take appropriate action and think clearly.

    mil·i·tant (madj.

    1. Fighting or warring.
    2. Having a combative character; aggressive, especially in the service of a cause: a militant political activist

When I think of "militants", I think of the Ku Klux Klan and the Black Panthers and certain animal rights and abortion activists.

If I saw this guy a couple years ago, when I was going through some serious doubts, I would have been scared shitless, as in, "Maybe all apostates are whacked out."

I will never forget the people screaming and hollering protesting at the assemblies. They were all red-faced, and in a rage.... sorry, but that does nothing at all but ensure that these people stay in the cult.

You need to really think about how people view what you are doing, b4 you do it...

I think that the lamb with the baloons would be cool!

What militant apostates? Haven't seen or read about anybody going into a Kingdom Hall and giving an old fashioned country ass whipping to the elders. The thought has crossed my mind and I am sure several other people have had more or less the same idea. "We" just have had better sense than to act on our less-than-nice thoughts.I wonder how long it will be until something in someone will "snap" and they will do the unthinkable?

Take a look at 1968. And other "sixties" riots, protests, and general marches. Tis was a time of unrest. People wanted action and took the right to do the "action themselves. Only then did the Government step in and start to correct things and set the wheels of Justice into motion. However, many people got hurt in the process and a whole lot of wrongs were committed against innocent people.

AFTER ALL OF THE BAD AND IN MANY CASES, HORRIBLE TREATMENT DEALT OUT TO ALL OF THE FORMER AND CURRENT JWs BY THE WTB&TS and the ELDERS;-- HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE PEOPLE DECIDE TO ACT ON THEIR OWN?

Oh well, I guess time will tell!

    Hamas,

Be careful about what you say. The statement you made in jest or otherwise might get you a visit by unfriendly officials of the local Police force or the FEDS.

You do what you want. I Just thought I would give you some friendly advice and a heads up on the possibilities in a changing world!

    Laters,

    KIM
