If this has already been posted just disregard.
So peak publishers in 2018 was 8,579,909 vs 2017 which was 8,457,107... not much difference in growth compared to last year
Sanchy:
Not much to brag about, right Sanchy? We can give Average Joe credit for these. We know the Watchtower is lying about their numbers, because in one of the leaked videos they admitted they did NOT even know how many Kingdom Halls they had.
They also admitted that the information posted on their website was NOT correct!

1.4% growth.
WOW!!! Jehobers spirit is speeding up the work!!
FYI world population growth is 1.1%
So they barely keep up with population growth.
THUS the push for 11 year olds to be baptized.
Liars figure and figures lie.
Thanks, Atlantis, for the early leak of Spain's info.
Of course, an increasing number of pioneers is expected if they can get huge portions of their FS time sitting at carts while texting and reading instead of actually preaching to the people.
But what is absent is more telling than what is present in the report. They do not discuss the number of congregations or KHs, do they? When discussing the limited number of figures that they choose to highlight, few comparisons are made with previous years (like baptisms, Memorial attendance, "Bible studies"). The implied average size of a cong now seems to be just 70, instead of the 100 or so that it used to be when we were in.
These highly selective statistics are their latest spin. It will be interesting to look at the full report and document both the continuing negative trend we've seen in previous years in most Western lands and what countries have joined those places in going into decreases. Wouldn't it be telling if they began listing things like "average age" of Witnesses, lawsuits filed, lawsuits settled, legal expenses and payouts for child abuse? Fat chance of that!

Re: 2018 Annual Service Report
Dear Suckers Brothers:
We are disappointed pleased to share discouraging encouraging highlights from the 2018 service year report of Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide. ( We don't include Muslim and Communist Countries..which would amount to about 5 billion people)
The peak number of publishers was 8,579,909. ( Don't forget we count 10 year-olds and it only takes 5 minutes of field service to make the list)
Jehovah’s people spent a total of 2,074,655,497 hours in the ministry, a 1.4 percent increase from last year. ( We happily count coffee, donut breaks and 4 publishers sitting in a car wasting time while waiting for a member finishing their spiel and 30-minute rides to the next householder)
It is especially encouraging to note that 281,744 were baptized! ( Let's not fool ourselves... most of them are family members and small children...forget about someone joining from a cold call )
This is no evidence that Jehovah’s people take seriously the commission to “make disciples.” (Matt. 28:19) (Actually, we take away privileges and Armageddon is out of the question if you don't preach)
We were delighted to see a 1.5 percent increase in the number of regular pioneers, totaling 1,243,392! The worldwide Memorial attendance figure was 20,329,317. ( Most of these attend due to hounding from family members. 12,000,000 will not attend a meeting or get baptized..but we will see them again for next year's Memorial)
The figure I’m most interested in is number of congregations.
Number if baptisms is down in absolute numbers and down even more as a percentage of publishers. It must be the lowest baptisms/publisher ratio ever recorded. A very poor sign for future growth.
I guess AVERAGE PUBLISHERS was not reported.
Too bad. PEAK pubs means nothing. The peak is always in August at the end of the service year when the Cong Secretary hounds Joe Publisher to "catch up" on all the months he missed all year, so Joe turns in 5 or 10 hours every month (even though he never left the house).
I think someone mentioned on here that the WTS has stopped putting the stats for average publishers on the annual report.
